Exclamation Trouble revving between 4-5k rpms (Need help)

My 8 is having trouble revving up smoothly between 4-5k rpms. Its giving me a "hick up" feeling between that rpm zone. Does anybody know whats wrong with it? I've never had this problem before. I took it to the dealer... and they replaced my wires and plugs thinking that it would solve the problem but it is still continuing Idk if their trying to cover up the problem but their saying the reason why its giving the hick up feeling is b/c the fuel injectors are trying to pump fuel into the chamber...

New Motor Time... or a Decarb might fix it...My wife just got an 04 with 57k and after having for 2 weeks it is getting a new engine... told her now you have a new car...MY 04 got one in the first round at 48k when the recall notice went out... my bro has an 05 and got one at around 50k... they will try changing coils plugs wires then a decarb if it fails time for new engine

They've just replaced my engine 2-3 weeks back and that is when the rev problem has started.

Had something similar happen to me, it got so bad that my car actually cut off, but it started with the same symptoms you are experiencing. Mine got better after I changed the plugs, coils, and wires. Some members suggested to me that my Cat was clogged, so maybe look into that.

Also, if they replaced your plugs, make sure they used the right plugs in the right spot. Remember someone who had their plugs replaced and the shop they went to put them wrong, like both Trailing plugs in the rear rotor and both Leading plugs in the front rotor or something like that.

Just a couple of things to look into. I hope that helps a little.

Go back to the dealership immediately... I would have taken it back right away... if they gave you a bad reman they can order another one...or if the Cat is bad I believe it is covered under the 100k warranty...

That actually happened to me when I had the engine replaced. Only I didn't even get a chance to drive the second engine as they discovered the problem while it was still in their hands. So 7 weeks later I got my car back with a new engine and no problems now for about 50000 miles. Good luck with it OP.

I did take it back to the dealer like 2x for the same problem and they did all kinda tests and came to a conclusion that its normal sayin that the cause was ( the fuel injectors are trying to pump fuel into the rotary chamber?) but I was tellin em I never had this revvin problem but their sayin thats how it is they can't do anything they changed my coils/wires/plugs and catalytic converter thinking that it would solve the prob but still same **** happening. Do you think I was babying it to much? b/c when i got the engine replaced 2-3 weeks back... the first 1k miles I was keeping the rpms below 4k rpm continually (as some people recommended me to do so here) take it easy to break in thru the engine.

Do you know what code your CEL is throwing? I had a similar problem, replaced my wires, plugs, sparks and my cat to fix it.

before they changed the wires/plugs and coils the light was coming on but not anymore after they've replaced those parts. Its jus the hick up feeling between 4-5k rpms that is still continuing (I'm jus concerned about that)

I'd take it back ASAP...you just had the motor replaced something is wrongs...yes at 3750RPM's there are ports opening and me PERSONALLY can feel when it happens but it's not like it's losing power!....they prob messed something up or had a bad reman.....so evidently sleepy-Z didn't rebuild it(guessing he's still lurking the boards)....

good/bad news...

Good news... the hick up feeling I was having for the past week has been gone... bad news... but today... the engine light is flashing again! ERRR! WTF is wrong with my car! I'm gonna take it to the dealer for the 100th! time tomorrow. Give me some tips/ suggestions on what I should tell those bastards at the dealer who are not able to find what is wrong with my car.

Tell them to stop evading the issue and finally fix it. That's one of the worst dealers I've heard of \=
