The latest issue of RXTuner had a small blurb about the Mazda AU turbo RX8.

""So what's the purpose of the Mazda Extreme Car RX-8? To me, it looks like just a bunch of smoke and mirrors, with little real substance. Sure, it'll run fine for awhile. But if it pops a moter every 5000 miles, it has no real value, and is nothing more than a marketing stunt....Mazda Australia public relations has already said publicly that there is NO chance of this car making it to production."

Convert kW to BHP multiply by 1.355818

So 270kW = 366bhp

Hey Snap On it's TURBO not TUBRO! Yes and so do I.

The Renisis is a 13B engine and RX7 had turbos for ages. It's not going to pop every 5000kms! You yanks certainly need some of our engineering on rotaries. We have been turboing for years.

There has also been some low boost turbo added in Aussie with about 200kW (260hp) I'll find the article and send you the website.

Convert nM of Torque to ft/lb multiply by 0.737561 So 350 nM = 258 ft/lb

We are all interested in what you have to say, but you will have to pardon our skepticism. There are a number of people working on making a turbo for the Renesis. At this time there are no models in production. Mazda AU has not even published any official numbers for their turbo RX8. If you read the fine print, it says projected for all the HP & torque figures.

In regards to the Renesis vs. the 13B:

I'd trust an Aussie more then any Yank regarding Turbos, since you have to live more on the edge to use a Turbo, but superchargers? that is anyones game

I like a skeptic, but anything is possible. If Aussies can run twin turbos on a 350Z and get a smooth 427.1hp (that's about 310kW!) ....see www.airpowersystems.com.au for the US market then anything is possible.

You should keep to V8s young men, you obviously can't tune engines like us men from OZ. Or possibly stick to Playstation2

Like I said I will get back to you after I speak to the God of Turbos in OZ.

9100RPM, the members of this forum are extremely knowledgeable with regards to the Sydney Motor Show concept car and Joe's Rotormaster turbo.....there have been at least 20 threads raised regarding these cars and there is nothing that's been published that hasn't been combed over ad nauseum on this site.

The question we all have for you is this......

Are you telling us that you will be effectively converting your car into an EXACT mechanical replica of Horsley's Motor Show car?

Gomez.
