which type oil do you use?

synthetic or non-synthetic (if you use a synthetic blend then you will be included under the non-synthetic choice because most 5w-20 oils are blends)

I use and Only Full synthetic. I dont believe in Bullshit about "blah blah not burning cleaner blah blah because it resist heat blah blah" just tell me which oil can resist over 1600f degress of heat.

Non-synthethic. Why would anyone use synthetic when the manual clearly says NOT TO! It has also been part of the cause of engine problems in the latest recall.

I'd be surprised to hear if the majority do this cause I am staying away from synthetic myself!

I know I have an Rx-7 but my engine is MORE sensitive. there are some differences such as compression and such etc.

I have 97,000 miles btw

I use Valvoline 20W50 non-synthetic oil for engines over 75,000 miles.

non, for no other reason than synthetic is a waste of money, and I refuse to buy into the hype. And I can buy dino anywhere if I happen to need a quart on the fly.

full synthetic all the way. I also run 87 octane but then again it's an RX-7 not an 8. Anything more than 87 is a waste of money.

Syn blend right now. As soon I finish using up all my dino oil(about 2-3 more changes) I'll go full syn.

87 also!

I use non-synthetic usually Castrol 10-30.

It's so easy to change oil when I get a Qt low I usually change it - about 2000 miles.

For reference sake, my CX7 gets 2500 miles to a Qt, and my wife's 5 just turned 3000 miles and not quite a qt low. Its getting changed today.

My wife's BMW wagon with 90,000 miles gets about 2000 miles to a qt which is a tad less then when it was new. She's ready to sell it if anyone is interested.

Uhh...I don't understand why the mileage has any impact on WHEN you use this 20W50...an FC should ALWAYS be run on 20W50 in moderate climates (read: no EXTREME cold, no EXTREME hot)

I can't specifically vouch for the manual without actually getting it out of my car and I don't feel like going for a walk in the rain, but the video said not to use synthetic.

I never had good feelings about Valvoline's "over 75,000 mile" oil. Reminds me of when I was a kid and people drove $50 cars, and had to add STP (or similar snake goo) to keep oil consumption to a reasonable level. If I start with a new car, I'd rather use an oil that protected my engine so that it would not need goo after 75,000 miles.

I've been using Castrol GTX for over 40 years. (Forget if it was always called GTX.) Ran my three previous cars 92,000 miles, 87,000 miles and 206,000 miles, and my wife's car has maybe 88,000 now. We ran my wife's previous two cars somewhere to the 90 to 100 K range. I change oil and filter at 3000 to 5000 miles. Never had a bit of internal engine trouble or oil burning with any of these cars.

Ken
