ugh... power door lock problem
Hey guys... I have searched for the answer to this problem but nobody seems to be having (or have had) the exact same problem that I am experiencing.
My passenger side power door lock will not work correctly all the time. It acts like it wants to fully engage and disengage but then it kind of stops in mid action. It seems like whatever motor is driving it runs out of energy from time to time and it gives up half way through its cycle.
Is this the solenoid in the lock actuator going bad? I have had this same thing happen before a few years ago but it went away. Could the ambient humidity going up substantially have affected the actuator assembly itself (I read one thread where somebody had gone through a car wash and had this happen).
Also, I scraped some of the paint on the inside part of the door getting the panel off. I have some extra touch up paint and was wondering if it would be worth using to ensure that no rust forms when I put it all back together.
Thanks for your help!
