Well, I graduate college tomorrow morning and I guess one of the locals decided to give me an early gift last night. I awoke this morning to discover my car had been pelted with rocks of considerable size knocking large holes and destroying the rear window as well as severely denting various panels on the right side of the car.

And to add a bit of icing to the top of the cake, the vandals managed to short something in the electrical system as evidenced by the horrific buzz my speakers now make when I close the trunk that popped open during the assault. I attached some pictures for your viewing displeasure, please look and sympathize.

The wonderful urban-county police didn't even show up to investigate. They took my oral report at face value and claimed it would be useless to follow up due to the many other instances of this type of abuse occurring in my area. Lexington is only like 300,000 people or so, but I guess that's too many for the police to watch after. Anyways, I get to pick up the report in 3 business days after which I have to submit it to State Farm and go from there.

 

that sucks so bad! Hope it all gets covered! I had that happen to my old car...but several times...rocks, milkshakes, burittos...why? because I refused to race people in my town, because i knew i had a slow 1995 eclipse...

They didn't even steal anything which is funny because the trunk shorted and opened leaving my bazooka sub exposed.

I have comprehensive so the local agent assured me all is well. What sucks is that I have the front splash guards on with the strakes which means if the dealership must replace the front panel I'll be driving an assymetric rx-8 for a week or so.

OMFG... that sucks beyond. freaking BASTARDS!! man, DEFINITELY file a police report. they probably wont' catch the guys, but at least it might help them patrol more and prevent them from doing this again to someone else...

i have a co-worker who's car got vandalized recently, and he installed a cabin cam to catch the ****** in his neighborhood who've been doing it. (i have to ask him what make/ model camera he's using. but, i'm guessing it's hidden somewhere- otherwise they'd break in and steal or vandalize that too.)

but, man- it hurts seeing a fellow 8 desecrated like that. i hope your insurance takes good care and gets your car fixed good as new very soon. let us know what happens.

i was just thinking, how about any finger prints left on the rocks? but then, would those prints be in the data base? idk, just an idea...hope everything works out for you.

 

Our cops are severely overstretched as I said they didn't even show up to verify the damage. I wish I could get a job and earn more doh to get mods, but I made the stupid decision to go back to school and get my master degree without any downtime. After that perhaps.

Well , thats why i have a loaded shotgun and a dog. The dog always barks if someone is in the proximity of my car since its in the back with my dog leashed. If it barks...its party time .
