Good luck getting it fixed.
I live about a block from Transy down Upper St. (towards 5th). Not the greatest part of town, apparently this type of **** happens frequently and I've just been lucky for the past 4 years up until this point. Since I've moved down town three of my roomates have had their stereos jacked (parked next to me), my girlfriend's roomates have had their tires slashed (while I was parked on the same road), there have been two rapes within a block of my house, and to top it off in February someone was murdered less than three blocks away.

Transylvania's DPS is apparently worthless as all of this has happened on their watch (except for one of the rapes and the murder). I need to finish my master's and gtf me thinks. Btw, the car is still in the shop owing to the discovery of several scratched/torn interior pieces (read: leather and concrete) and the need to repair something with the grounding set up in the rear (buzzing speakers). State Farm is cutting another check for $432.

Just to put this thread to rest, I got my 8 back after what felt like an eternity today. The dealer fully detailed it inside and out and with the new paint and replaced interior it's like a new car again (minus the 38,000 miles and with after market goodies included). I was so excited I probably only managed 10 mpg on the way home. It's safe to say my 8 will stay parked in front of my house on the street from now on instead of in the alley behind it.

Two more things.......................1.) might want to get shock sensor installed......and........2.) Keep shotgun by the front door.

And to add a bit of icing to the top of the cake, the vandals managed to short something in the electrical system as evidenced by the horrific buzz my speakers now make when I close the trunk that popped open during the assault. OMG, WTF is wrong with people?

Glad to hear you got your car back. Those nut-lickers will get what they deserve!
