![Question](https://www.rx8club.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Having dealer install wind deflector for sunroof was a bad idea. I want that thing off. I can't see exactly how deflector attaches to roof beyond one screw in each forward corner and two long casings of some sort over each screw. There is a rubbery gasket-like piece that serves as a seal.
Question:
(1) Are there now holes in the roof of the car that weren't there prior to installation? If so can the holes be filled without intereferring further with the roof's appearance?
(2) Deflector been on there about 7 weeks. Is that long enough for changes to have occured in the paint underneath the gasket vs. the rest of the roof? Black is soooo persnickety...
Thank you for your help and guidance.

If it's like most, then just the two screws are holding it on. There are little hooks that grab under the opening. You won't know until you get it off whether the finish is affected. I had one on another car that I removed (it was taking up a big chunk of the opening like on the 8), and there are friction marks in the clear coat. I suspect I can have them buffed out.

i took mine off last wekend their are only two screws thathold it on .you can remove it in less than 2min .after you remove it but some fresh wax on it, since it never had any before.i like it alot better without it on .

the d*mned thing now OFF
Thanks guys for the help. Took me two minutes to remove deflector and accumulated dirt.
Overcast day here so can't really tell until bright light----but looks as tho there are zero problems with the paint that lay underneath the gasket. YEAH!!
Anybody want this piece of plastic before it's relegated to the trash?
