how much extra oil is measured on the dipstick? you'd have to drain the extra oil if you wanted to remove some of it.

you can use a product called simple green with wet rags if you want to clean the engine bay area .. just keep in mind that you're not supposed to hose it down, just use wet rags and products like simple green.

Just get down under the car, remove the undertray, loosen up the drain plug, and get some of the oil out if it helps you sleep better. As far as using simple green in your engine bay, DO NOT REMOVE ANY COVERS (THEY ARE THERE FOR A REASON). Simple green is concentrated and if used frequently could dry out your hoses a lot quicker, mix it with water. just my .02

You clearly don't know what you're talking about - how do you add oil if you don't remove the engine cover? How do you service the battery unless you remove the battery cover?

It is PERFECTLY OK to remove covers - I wouldn't open the airbox and clean in there, or anything, but in 40K + miles and 3 years of ownership, I routinely remove covers and clean and service underneath them, and even drive with the engine cover off.

Also, if you have a MazdaSpeed strutbar, the stock engine cover won't fit anymore.
