US pricing
Actuly always dont trust the dealer but listen this guy was a friend of mine from way back before he started selling at Hetrich Mazda.
He said "Even after we market it up for the 6 speed it fully loaded it will still be less then 30 grand."
And I trust him.

yeah, i to believe that the pricing will be under 30 grand because i heard they discontinued the rx-evolv because of its pricing, which was over 30 grand. They said to make this onwe successful they are going to make it under fully loaded. I believe ur friend is right. Lets just hope they dont let us down!

Discontinued the RX EVOLV?? Uh, the EVOLV was the original concept car for the RX-8. It was never sold, and will never be sold.
Part of the demise of the 3rd gen RX-7 was the fact that it cost ~$35,000 which at the time was probably perceived to be a lot more money for that type of car than $35,000 would be today. Combine that with the fact that in the early to mid 90's sports cars were more or less on their deathbed (besides the Mazda Miata) as SUV sales soared resulted in the removal from the US of the RX-7, along with the Supra, 300ZX, and eventually the 3000GT.
Fortunately we are in a sports car renaissance. It seems that the sooner you can have your car available, the better off you'll be. It sure is gonna get crowed in the ~$30,000 crowd and you're gonna have to be in early and offer something unique to survive. Hopefully the RX-8 will have a little of the former, and a whole lotta the latter.
