used rx8. no oil invoices?
i am looking in to getting an rx8 and i just read the no invoices so denied a new engine thread on this forum.
my question is if i buy a used 8 from a dealer i am probably not going to get receipts with it for the past work done on it. if i have a problem and need an engine am i going to be screwed?
thanks

You would need to call Mazda USA with the VIN and they would let you know.

Just hope you get a nice rep on the phone, some wont give you any info at all about a car you don't own. If that happens just say thank you, hang up, and call back until you get a good guy/girl.
I thought I have seen some threads where some people stated that all that matters is from the time you buy it an on for receipts since you couldn't possibly be expected to have someone elses receipts.

i guess its just a risk i have to take. i will call them when i get a vin. they will be able to tell me all the recalls that have been done also correct? if one has not been done am i still able to get it done for free?
i am trying to get a 2006. i wanted a 2004 but after reading about their problems and the switch to the 6 port engine over the 4 i dont want an 04 even though everyone i see on auto trader is an 04.

Are you buying from a Mazda dealer? When I bought mine from a Mazda dealer they stated it still had the warrenty. I asked about service history and they were able to pull up records in their service system, but stated they couldn't turn them over to me since they had the old owners information on them. It sounded kind of weird, but they assured me there was plenty of history to uphold any future warrenty claims as long as I kept up the car. I guess I kind of bought on faith, but the carfax showed a bunch of service history as well so we'll see.
