Used RX8 problems?

Used RX8 problems?
I'm just starting to look at the possible purchase of a 2004 RX8. I'v read a few reviews and some of your posts, and it sounds like a car I defilnitely want to explore. I've located a few in my area (SE Wisconsin) thru web searches. Now, what should I look for as possible problems with used 2004's?
For one, I've noted the flooding issue. Some posts say they have no problem at all, while others do. Is this a car specific problem? That is, is this less than a year old car on the lot because it has this problem that couldn't be fixed?
I would appreciate any comments about pitfalls I should look for in 2004's on the dealer's lot. Also, should I consider a 2005, because 2004 problems have been corrected with the newer model?
Thanks

If the car is at a Mazda dealer, have the service department pull up the vehicle by the VIN number. It should show you all the Mazda dealer maint. issues that were done to the car. Make sure any recall items have been done on the car.
If the car is owned by someone, you can get the VIN and the dealer may pull the info as well. If not, have the seller get the info for you . . . or go with him/her to the dealership.
Just my 2 cents.

Just to let you know glass,
I bought a brand new 2004 last night and got $5,000 off from incentives (4,000 MAC, 500 grad, 500 gerber)
in the end, I paid ~22,700(including all taxes and fees) for my automatic with the sport package.
It may be better to buy a new one then a used one
