Variable Tumble Control System - Engine light
Hey guys, I have a 2004 RX8 MT with about 48K
My engine light came on. I went to Autozone and they ran the code as
Variable Tumble Control System malfunction. I called Mazda and the guy said that a valve is stuck open, probably from carbon build up.
Any thoughts? How much am I looking at?
He suggested I use Lucas additive, which I am now. Mileage has dropped off.
Please let me know if there is anything that I can do.

Hey I was just looking at Service Bulletins and I saw one with the same code as the one I have, which is P2004
Does this mean it should be covered, even if I am out of bumper to bumper warranty? Or?
I just had my engine replaced and throttle body serviced. This is driving me crazy!!!!

if you're out of B2B warrnaty it prob wont' b covered since it's just a service bulletin....I recommend getting a bottle of seaFoam and running it through the intake manifold....search are the boards and there is a procedure on here somewhere
