Lightbulb VIVID Racing Pepsi RX-8 - What do you think it's ACTUALLY worth???

I stopped by to look at this thing today... Pretty sweet car, but I don't know if it's actually worth what they are asking...

Here's a link to a list of mods on the car: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/312238...ler-az-us?rp=1

They claim that it is not currently tuned, as it has lost power (battery) over the past few years and the Greddy Emanage system has lost it's memory. The car was run in the 2006 Gumball 3000, and is NOT in showroom condition, and has a number of visual blemishes. That said, the car is a looker, and has the capability of being awesome at the track once tuned!

Before I say what their asking price is, What does everyone here think it is really worth??? It's got about 7,800 miles, but that really doesn't make a difference, I imagine.

They tried to sell this thing back in 2006 I'm surprised they still have it. I googled around and found the price they wanted in '06 and I'm curious if it matches what they are still asking or not. I wont post it since you didn't want to post the price yet.

Yeah, I know what the asking price was in 2006 when it was being sold. It's not still the same seller. There have been 2 private owners of it since it was owned by Pepsi.

As for all of the people about the way it looks and the stickers...
Let's not forget that this was stickered up to be a show car after being run in the Gumball. It's not meant to be a sleeper, nor a daily driver. Hell, the damn thing's got it's own Hot-Wheels made after it. While other cosmetic mods may look better, I would leave it how it is (more-or-less) just for the history of the car.

The front bumper alone is ugly as sin. So i would say that would drop the price by 20k

Well, in 2006, the Ebay Buy-It-Now price was $35,000. The current owner's initial asking price is $34,000. But they've said that they're VERY willing to work with a serious buyer on the price. I'm thinking that a reasonable price wouldn't be more than $20k.

This is really just given the age of the vehicle, and the fact that the resale of aftermarket mods is NIL! If it didn't have any mods, you might get $14,000 retail out of a stock 2004 GT with 8k miles. Of course I could be wrong...

If anyone is interested, let me know, I'll put you in touch!

Hell no!

You get what you pay for.

The off size wheels make it handle worse.

The seats will drive you crazy if you travel for a long distance. Either way they are a pain to get in and out.

Cop magnet. expect to get several tickets.

And of course everyone knows the Emanage sucks and will eventually blow up the car

Looks like a project car that will become a project car again.

Uh. Vivid. 'Nuff said.

I dunno. Maybe $9k MAX?

I run staggered-fitment on the track because it makes the car handle better. It is all a matter of balance. Power, traction, suspension deflection, etc.
I'm within 4 seconds of the track record at Firebird West.

All I have to say is, if this car where owned by a 16 year old it would go for 7-9 thousand tops. Because it was owned by a team that tried to race it once or twice and make it look good doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me....
