If the RX-8 doesn't sell you'll never see that car on the market. Even then the factory has to be retooled and that takes time. Mazda isn't stupid enough to release the car in a year or two and take away from sales of the RX-8.

You won't see it for at least three years.

 

I don't think they would have even developed the body kit and interior stylings if they weren't going to offer it for another 3 years. What has me hoping is this thread..

If this is correct we should be seeing some type of 280hp renesis this coming fall. Whether it is the MPS or not remains to be seen but I would love to have the extra 30 hp.

I can hopefully add a body kit similar to the MPS, later if it is the original body style.

 

My plan all along has been to wait on the upcoming MPS RX8.

To fritts, I think the 280+ horsepower car will be the RX-7.. the MPS RX-8 will be a bit away in my opinion. Your comment about making the body kit etc is good, but keep in mind that the RX-Evolv was also a concept and took 3+ years to develop into the RX-8. The MPS RX-8 that was released at Tokyo was also a concept... so I'd imagine it's a bit away. Besides Mazda isn't stupid and going to saturate the market by offering a similar car with the convienience of the RX-8 but with more power!

I think the RX-7 will be the next milestone from Mazda in another year or so, and then another year after that or so, the MPS RX-8.

 

I too am a member of the intrepid few, patiently awaiting with hope for the arrival MPS RX-8...

 

It could be the Mazdaspeed Miata that is going to be released.
