Want to buy an 09

Some questions:

Has engine flood issue been resolved by this year? I read all the cold engine shut down already just curious if Mazda ever fully fixed the issue.

The engine extended warranty does not cover 09, does that mean their engines are fine and no need to worry?

Engine flooding is more user error than anything else so Mazda cannot fully fix that. However people have tried to flood their newer rx8s and failed, its very hard to do.

The warranty does cover 09 rx8s, and any years after I think.

Most of the flooding problems today are caused by neglected maintenance. A weak battery, bad ignition components or dirty fuel injectors are what causing flooding problems.
The 09+ models had a revised engine to take care of wear problems.

I have an 05 and i never flooded the car so far. Anyway, before shutting down the ignition, make sure the engine is in normal running temperature.

I have a 2010 and have inadvertently shut it off in a manner that would flood others once or twice with no problem.
