Which warranty, bumper to bumper or 60K? What year and miles? Have you had any issues?

This will cost about $100 but you should get a baseline compression test.

You might try to get the revised engine mounts (TSB: Hesitation/idle vibration due to cracked engine mounts). Read it here: http://finishlineperformance.com/sto....php?pageid=11

just went through this myself.

1) Do compression check for sure (rx-7 store charge $40. Thanks jason.)
2) Read all TSBs from the link given above. I had a few things covered.
3) Make sure you are up to date on the ECU flash.

I am getting my stereo replaced next week due to the CD player skipping heavily while hitting small bumps, got to love it.

Take care,

Brian

If you complain about a lack of power in the lower RPM range then a good dealership will give you the compression test for free. Others will charge 1 hour labor for it.

Confused about the compression and oil leak tests...

If your car appears to work fine and if the dealer doesn't notice a problem with your car, how can paying a third party to test your car help? If you pay the dealer for diagnostoc testing and they DO find an issue, does Mazda fix the issue and reimburse you for the testing fee?

Mazda USA doesn't have to do any warranty work until their dealer's service department believes there is a problem AND the issue is confirmed with their own diagnostic testing procedures on their own equipment. This is regardless of what you the customer says.

Am I wrong on this?

For me it was I wanted an impartial opinion. So for $40US it seemed like a great deal. If they had found an issue I would have then went to the dealership and gone from there.

Take care,

Brian
