Warranty Void

I gotta question about 2 things. I wanna get a K&N Typhoon on my AT 8 but i was wondering if it would mess up my warranty?

This isnt really a question but i heard that if i get a viper alarm system that would definitly void my warranty is this true? or is it only the car starter viper alrams.

Causes effect warranty coverage, not items. In other words, did it cause the malfunction? If so, they won't cover it. It's up to them to prove it (although they'll tell you anything sometimes to prevent shelling out cash). Aftermarket rims and your engine dies? Covered. Aftermarket rims that don't clear brakes and end up damaging them, not covered.

As for alarms, if you have ignition problems, they may not cover it since the alarm is spliced into that system. If they say that your engine was flooded because of the engine, horseshit.

A warranty can only be voided if the dealership can prove the aftermarket item caused the problem.

More info at Moss Magnuson Warranty Act

change -back

you might consider- changing back to original- prior to warranty service- just to avoid the problem-

Just like 5Gen_Prelude said: "they may not cover it since the alarm is spliced into that system." JWhen I got my 3G Eclipse it had a after market alarm that was disabled. When my battery died I was stranded at Auto Zone. Mitsu toaed the car and fixed it no questions asked. After all they sold me the car like that . How ever if you decide to get a car alarm get a warranty on it to... As for K&N my service dept MG told me due to CEL lights they may not cover service on the car...

SOmeone on this board bought the typhoon from the Mazda dealer. If Mazda sells it and didn't make him sign anything stating a warranty issue, then I would like to believe they can't fulfill the warranty.
