Budaman, thanks for the 30 on 1308. Next I want to hear the "at Midlothian" report. Thanks again.

Actually, it will say Port-DA. I think they have a hard time spelling Midlothian. Sounds kind of medievil also!

Budman,

Please check 1941 again please. I got a email on 6/9 that stated.
So, I hope it hits the water soon!

"Hello CHARLES,

We are happy to inform you that the factory has completed production on your 2004 Mazda RX-8—the car Edmunds.com described as "...more willing at high rpm than even Honda's S2000 because of the rotary's phenomenal smoothness."

Your RX-8's Production Date: 20030530

At present, your Mazda RX-8 is being shipped from our Hiroshima plant in Japan to your local destination port. In about 3-8 weeks, depending on where you live and shipping schedules, the port will release your car and it will be on its on the way to the dealer! We'll let you know as soon as that happens so that you can make arrangements to pick it up.

In the meantime, if you haven't already done so check out the
3D Performance Tour on the Web site, it's truly a unique interactive experience.

Zoom-Zoom,
Mazda RX-8 Order Headquarters "

When you can access East Coast info, # JM1FE173440101212 is in transit (last known) to Jacksonville port.

Please advise when possible. Thanks for being there for the rest of us!

10 status built but not shipped
1535,1850 & 2626
DM says he should get new shipping info this afternoon or tommorrow and he says he will try to get East Coast shipping info also.
God, I'm hanging on here by a thread! The suspense is killing me. I'll freak if my car is not on this next east coast boat. Thank you budaman (and ifubar) for all the help so far. I wish my dealer had this kind of enthusiasm over the RX-8. Well, I hope we get good news tomarrow.

I know what you mean rxtreme. Its driving me nuts that a second west coast ship has left but nothing to the east coast. I guess they are distributing more via west coast ports than the East. At this point I'm not expecting to see its shipped until next week or the week after. I would say the upside is if their were any problems with the US cars they would be able to fix them. However that can't happen because I car has been sitting in the salt air for the last 20 days.

If I here anything different (my dealer does check every so often) then I will post.

Why do you believe it will be such a long wait between the west coast bound and east coast bound boats? I would think only a couple of days seperation at most and really I wonder why there is any seperation at all. I mean, this second shipment is still some 1st allocation, some second allocation, and maybe some third alocation cars. These boats should be going out loaded to the max with RX-8's with still more waiting to be shipped after it leaves the Japanese port. Just a theory, but it seems to be accurate by what I've heard.

Sorry Rotorian,
Doesn't look like the US computer system will let us run canadian Vin's. How bought on your end Ifubar? I think this is the first Canadian Vin we've gotten.

So how is a car built 6-9 on the water when my car built 6-4 is still showing a '10' code (JM1FE173940103022)?

Thanks,

Rocky

East coast vs west coast

Looks like (maybe) the west coast ship left and the east coast ship has not...could be a destination difference....

West coast vs. East coast looks like to me. So this could show that no east coast bound boat has left since 6/4.

Imagine how I feel. Mine VIN is JM1FE173X40101747 and built on 5/28. Yet it still showed as a new VIN. WTF?!! I'm so **** I can go buy an EVO or something stupid.

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I'm "#1842", showing the same status.

Extremely frustrating. Especially when I see VIN's in the 2000 and 3000 range showning "in-transit". It's got to be the East Coast thing.

I'll Third those sentiments. 1850 and still sitting in Japan.

I'm surprised that a second east coast ship has not left. The only thing I can think is their aren't any other ships headed this way either. What I mean is that Mazda books a certain number of slots for cars on ships headed this way. If the shipping company doesn't have a ship headed to Jacksonville Mazda doesn't move the cars. In other words Mazda is a slave to the shipper not the other way around. Still I'm getting pretty tired of it.

RX-8 Zoomster it appears our cars were built very near each other. Mine shows built on 5-29 so you must have been the end of one shift and I was the begining of the next. We still don't know how linear the system is. It appears their are skips in numbering. Who know yours and mine could have been one right behind the other.
