have you looked under the hood to see if it's coming from along the edge of the engine compartment? If so and it's not, perhaps you have bad timing with semi's spewing diesel?

Sorry for the delay in the reply, but I have been on business.
I too have had a strange fluid/lube in the driver side wheel well and around the wheel arch, like I drove over a tube of grease and really fine strands sprayed on my car. I asked my dealer at my first service if there was anything in the wheel area that could leak but he said no. I put it down to driving over something, but now that someone else seems to have the same problem I will have to investigate further. Strange ,Strange, Strange...???

Just a thought, but check that your radiator fill cap is tight? Coolant is oily. Also check the level and if it isn't full then maybe that's it. Just a guess. Sorry I can't be actually helpful.

Come to think of it, it could also be a loose oil cooler hose since that thing is right in front of both fenders. Again just a thought.

Strange

Strange, I noticed the same thing. I thought maybe my wife spilled some pop. There was one little streak right under driver window and two streaks on the fender, same place yours was.

the residue you guys are referring to is tape/glue that is used during the shipping process. during PDI (pre-delivery inspection) someone at the dealership must remove all the protective pieces that were on your vehicle while it was being shipped. improper removement of these pieces can leave behind resiude that can be very tiresome to try and get out without scratching your car.

my advice: tell the dealer that they didnt' finish their job when they took delivery of your car, and ask them if they could please finish it by removing the gunk of your beautiful baby.

Hey, that's pretty cool. Seeing Google on that machine is a bit mind-blowing. I wonder though if the unmolested sx64 is (or will be) worth a lot more than your ordinary PC. I hear there is a sizeable market for "vintage" computers these days. I think one of the original Apple I sold for $50,000 recently. Ah, I miss my C64. I'd love to crank it up and play a nice game of Elite!

One question - why a cordless mouse - how far are you planning on getting from that 5" screen? :D

Oh, to get back to topic "weird substance on hood"... you might take a better photo and submit to the Weekly World News. "Tears of Felix Wankel appear!!" You may have an Icon on your hands ;P
