I just wanted to say hello and that I am excited to offically be a part of the RX-8 culter by taking delivery tonight of my black cherry MT RX-8 tonight. I have been reading a lot in these forums and have found a great compendium of answers. I hope to see some of you from NW Ohio on the road. I will be sure to add pictures to my garage as soon as I get some decent light outside. It is a rarity we have sunlight this time of year in Ohio Happy driving!

Lol no worries. I will def get pics up tomorrow. This is not my first RX I had a turbo II and a convertable. I love these things and cant believe I found this one. I was looking for a fun car and started going to "wholesalers" looking for whatever grabbed me. I saw this thing and remember it from my days of selling mazdas and was so excited. It was marked as 18k on the car but the internet they were asking 12.9k. I snatched it up as it is mechanically sound. The poor thing has dinged up a bit but I am still so excited. The interior is flawless. :D I could go on and on. I feel like a kid on christmas.

Edit: Pics have to wait as it is pitch black outside and I just got home with it 15 mins ago lol.

Black Cherry? Is that the same black cherry mica that the 2005 Shinka has? Does your 8 have badges on the B-pillars that say "Shinka"?

Ok VEZ you asked for ithaha.....

Ok here is the story once I decided i was going to buy my 8 I went in to make a down payment and hold it till the next week. I went in to the dealer and asked if i cold drive it one last time before i decided(yeah I already knew i was getting it)

The salesman says I would let you but it will not start. I said ok and I wanted to buy it etc etc. He said ok it will get sent down on Monday to the mazda dealer(this was saturday) to get fixed(I knew it was flooded thanks to this site) The dealer was about 2 hrs from the car lot and abotu 3 hrs from my home.

So Tuesday I call to see if it's done and they say yeah it's done but (I lived in NW PA at this time) it iced about an inch or more the night befroe and it could not get driven up till wednes day and it should b at the dealer at about 3pm...I was like fine I"ll take care of my insurance before 3 and b there shortly after

So Wednesday comes arund and i get to the dealer the salesman says he should b here in a few minutes it was getting driven up to make sure everything is ok etc etc. So I say ok and wait about an hour. I say "hey can u call this guy and see where he is" so he called and they said oh we are just now leaving the dealer and headed up so it would b about 2 hrs.(now about 4:30pm)

So i leave and come back around 7pm car is still not there so I wail till about 7:45 and it's still not there. So the salesman calls and the drivers says "oh we're just now leaving the dealer, filling up with gas and on out way.

so the Salesman says well we can either get it here and u can get it tomorrow etc etc. And I start goin off(meanwhile already paid a heafty down payment and signed everything etc etc ready to go) I told him I want my check back and rip up the paperwork and I'll find another one somewhere else of course he does not want that so i telll him. "This is what you're going to do. Get the car here and you are going to drive it to my home and I WILL get reimbersed for the gas money I spent coming back and forth here" He says oh ok we can do that.

so about 10 pm that night I see(through the blowing snow and ice) 2 cars slowly coming back the lane..My 8 pulls into my driveway and the salesman hands me a 100 dollar bill and says have a nice night!!!

now that's delivery!!! haha

 

How many miles are on it, just curious?

 

Haha I had a similar situation with my salesman wanting to drive it. The guy had never even considered it as he is a fan of american muscle. He said," This thing is classy and nimble, I usually don't like foreign cars." I smiled. As far as the miles here is a linky to where I found it.

Well if it is any consolation bud, I am glad to hear you have that many miles as it gives me confidence I have many enjoyable miles to come.

 

Thats nothing, there's a frequent member on here who has 166,XXX on engine #1 and states its still running strong.

There's a good handful of 100K + members on here.

I DD'd mine and once I tapped 70K, I retired mine into the garage. That last 1000 miles were put on over the last 6 months

I owe too much on my baby and I *was* tracking to hit 6 digits in 09. I invested in a Beater to aleviate that issue.

 

I noticed in your sig the sub. I would love to bite the idea but I dont think my wife wants that so close to our 2y/o strapped in back. I have been tirelessly using the search functions here but can anyone point me in the direction of a sticky that may show a hp:$$ chart and a nice audio and video sticky for different ideas for putting some "bump in my trunk"? ty ^.^

THats not silly at all, Im getting the front air damn in the spring, nice cheap clean mod that does wonders for the front IMO

 

^ Be very selective of who puts on that appearance pkg. See if you can find the body shop the dealers in you area use (if they contract out).
