well new motor I think..
well had my car in at mazda this week getting a new transmission installed in it. Car has 56k miles on it. After the install the tech guy called me and said well we have the tranny in but your car wont stay running, so the did a compression check and the compression is low, so most likely ill be getting a new or rebuilt motor, my only worry is i have my mazport ignition on there and i want it if they replace the motor, think they would let me take it off in the parking lot b4 they tore out my motor? What should i do about that? Oh the tech said they might decarbon it but my car has had idle problem for awhile and im sure the motor is going bye bye. *and i just bought the mazda decarboner* 20 bucks gone...lol

Yea i will as soon as they tell me what they are going to do. I dont know if its getting replaced but im sure it will. so i gotta figure out how to get it off of there. think ill just tell them i need to take it out before they remove my motor or sumthing.. i also have my ap pulley i just rememberd :S if i woulda known my motor was on its way i woulda took it off b4 i took it to the dealer!!

nothing. im surprised they didnt say anything about my pulley or midpipe. But the main tech guy there knows me and likes me so hopefully that will be to my advantage. Makes me nervous, i dont want them trying to put in some junyard motor in my 8 like they did my tranny! i better get new or rebuilt! and i dont want them like. well the ignition you put in there caused a blah blah blah blah *SLAP!!

lol you me! i dont know which im more nervous about getting my ignition out or them trying to blame the failer on it and say they wont cover it. I knew my car was on its way b/c it had very bad idle and felt sluggish, the good thing is though i brought it in running and not complaining about the idle, so it should be their problem.

Well just heard from mazda and i do need a new motor. so they are waiting to hear back from extended warrenty to see what they want to do as reman or new motor. The funny thing is i thought the motor was covered till 60k factory? i have 56k i wonder if mazda just trying to get out of paying for it theirselves if they can get extended to pay.
Lets just hope they dont try to pull a junkyard motor and put in my car! I told the tech at mazda that they will have major problems if they try that **** again, and he told me that they quoted a reman motor for me, so we'll see what happens.
Now i just need my ignition and pulley!!

I have had 2 engines replaced in my car. First replacement was a new engine from Japan. It took 5 weeks to get here and install. It lasted 12K miles. The second one being a reman which seems to be a stronger engine than the other 2.

so u might be at 56K miles, but have you check the date ?
if u're still within the powertrain warranty, Mazda should cover it on their own.

well my car would vibrate more than normal at idle and it would bounce from 750-1000 rpm never would keep a constant smooth 900 idle, i never really noticed much power difference until i started racing it and realized i was gettin much slower. and sometimes it would just die normaly when the a/c is on. go get a compression check if your too worried its 30bux then you can know or not.
