Angry Well this sucks

so last night I spent two hours of getting burnt and making a mid install trip to kragen for a pulley install that shouldve taken 45 minutes. Oh and it got dark midway. Anyways last night when I checks everything I turned on the car and no cel. Magically today there's a solid/ blinking cel. I have no time do test any of the problem silvers today because I have to go to school tonight. Is it safe to drive with and anybody have suggestions that WORK

Did you do any resets like you should have?

Don't really have to unhook the battery.

Do these steps.

Turn car on, but do not start it.
Pump the brake pedal real quick about twenty times until the oil gauge sweeps to the right and then back to the left.
Turn car off.
Wait a minute and then start as normal.

If you had unhooked the battery for the pulley install, then you should have your DCS/TCS light on.......not a CEL.
If this is true, turn the car to on.........don't start it.
Turn wheel all the way to the right, then all the way to the left.
Turn car off, wait a few, then start as normal.

Concern of mine is that the sprocket behind the pulley came off with the stock one. Is this an issue. I put it back on and it lines up with the holes. Could a misinstall of this cause any damage. And I was reading through some other forums to ecu reset and there something about unplugging batery and that I need to do both pedal and steering wheel. I'm way confused and kinda stressing because something about a misfire too

That plate needs to go back on right. It is keyed, so if you got it right , it should sit pretty flat. It's not that hard, so you probably got it right, but worth a double check. You WILL have to do the reset first before you know if it's really misfiring. If car was fine before the pulley install, then it's a safe bet that you just need the reset. Don't stress out until it's time to stress out.
A flashing CEL at speed is usually the misfire indication. It would be good if you could read the code, but again........if this is all you did to the car and it was fine, then the reset shall set you free!

Well........the CEL won't go off unless you do disconnect t he battery OR you do the reset and then drive it for a few drive cycles. The computer will keep a CEL on unless after a few drive cycles the problem is no longer there, then it will shut it off. If problem remains, it stays lit.
If you disconnect the battery for about 10-15 minutes, then that clears it, and if problem remains, it will light it right away.
If I were you, I really would disconnect the battery for 10 minutes.
Then do the brake pedal stomp as described.
Then do the DCS/TCS reset(wheel turn).
Remember............don't flood the car. When you start it for real, take it for a spin and don't shut it off cold!

Hmm little problem. Can't clear it by pedal stopping. Tried like 5 times and nothing. Put car in on position , stomped brake twenty plus times fast waiting for the gauge and nothing. Btw the pedal is stiff and I tried the wheel thing and that sucker was way hard to turn and it's still on. So I unplugged the negative and will leave it unplugged till lunch at 130

Okay, but it outta work! don't let them take my cape away.

Make sure you turn it to the "On" position, just not "ACC". When you try again, stomp that pedal really quickly. When I first did it, it took a couple of times as I wasn't doing it quickly enough. BTW.........did you look at the plate you said came off when you did the pulley, you sure it's on correctly? Also, I know you did they crank pulley, but what did you put on....the brand......and did you do any others?

Yes, the wheel will be really hard to turn at this point , but with the car in the "on" position, you must turn it ALL the way to the right until it stops, and then ALL the way to the left until it stops, then turn the car off.

I feel retarded asking all these questions but I won't let them decape u. LOL. Yup did the wheel all the way right all the way left and off then waited a minute turned it on ( vrmmm) and still there. I was stomping pretty hard as fast and watching the gauges and yesterday during the install I made sure the plate sat flush and the pulley as well agency power btw and just underdrive

yeah, the foot stomp method works it just needs to be done REALLY fast. (pump that brake as fast as you possibly can)
If you disconnected the battery, that should clear the code. You'll need to set your radio presets again.

It's been a while since I reset the DSC but can't it be done with the car one? Then the next time you turn it off / on, the light will no longer be illuminated. I think that's how I did it after the dyno day.
