What bulbs w/ clear corners?

I got my clear corners, and haven't installed them yet. But I have a question. What bulbs do I need to get to go with them? And where do I get them? I need to get the bulbs quick, because my car is going in for a new bumper on Wednesday beacause I hit a friggin' deer, so this would be a perfect time to have them put on.

Thanks.

I hear Stealth bulbs are best or you can go with ones with the orange top on them. I forget the Number of bulb but there have been lots of threads on Clear Corners. I want to do the same but I just bought the car and I am still breaking it in.

The side marker lights are 194's.

You can find a complete bulb code description in this thread

yup the clear corners are 194s...if your state allows it get bright white LED's (check out my avatar pic)...if not probably go with LED amber then...the reason is:
1.they are naturally stealth
2.they will last forever
3.they will run very cool...before I had the LEDs I had stealth bulbs in there...from 2 different companies (one was expensive the other cheap) both of them melted the plastic around the bulb and it ended up sticking to the bulb...I had tear out the bulbs with a needle noise pliers as some of the plastic had melted into the base...it was horrible

My 194 amber incandescent bulbs recently burned out. When I tried to replace them, I discovered that they'd melted the surrounding plastic so badly that the bulb sockets and clear-corners fused (and I can't get them apart, rendering both the clear corners and sockets worthless - D'ohhh).

I ordered replacement sockets and when they arrive, I'm gonna put my original amber side markers back in. If I get clear corners again, I'll go with amber LEDs so they won't melt the plastic. Any suggestions on which ones to get? I originally ordered the incandescent bulbs from http://superlumination.com/194.htm

+1 for LED bulbs. Amber or white, they are the best route to go. Go to www.v-leds.com and look for the 194 - 5 LED Refractor bulbs. While you're there, pick up an extra pair for the parking lights. I've tried quite a few different LEDs for the parking lights and have found that the refractor bulbs work best there also, I recomend the white ones.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about getting the bulbs in time for your bumper replacement as it is super easy to swap out the amber corners for clear corners, all you need is a philips screwdriver and about 10 minutes.

+2 for LED's. If you are truly in a pinch and want some LED's quick, Autozone stock's 'em. Not nearly as nice as the ones Aipex posted, but they'll get the job done.

I put in regular amber bulbs in the clear side markers. My pics are in the DIY Side Marker thread.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I ordered those amber 5-way 194 refractor LEDs from V-LEDS.COM.

The only reason to remove the reflectors is aesthetic, right? I didn't bother with my first set of clear corners because I didn't think the amber reflector inside the clear corners was all that noticeable.

Appreciate your DIY (it's why it only took me 10 min to do the first install). I actually posted there 3 years ago: https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=117.

Apparently some incandescent amber 194 bulbs run hotter than others... good luck with yours!

I've used the stealth bulbs ever since I installed my CC's. No melting or crazy defects in over 3 years.

Let us know how they look and perform.

I have the 5 LED Refractor whites in the parking lights.
Normal 6 LED's whites in the clear sides, license plate, and trunk.
Normal 6 LED's blue everywhere in the interior including the courtesy, map, footwells, and rear dome light or whatever the hell you wanna call it. I really like all of these very much and are great! All from V-LED of course!
I really want to get to the entire dash(including the stereo face), steering wheel, window switches, and center console seat warmer switches, so I guess in due time I may try to do all of these.

You put these in the side markers? I'd like to see how that looks, I'd go do it but I'm too lazy to go try it.

I'm liking the LEDs as well; I have amber burning ones, and I can't see much of a difference between them my old stealth bulbs. BTW, I am selling a new pair of Stealth Bulbs #194 that I never used if you are wanting to go that route instead of LEDs ($20 shipped): https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?p=1869064

Are the lights in there capable of being put on an 07 rx8 as well? I would assume so?
