What Car Target Price!
Someone posted the What Car Review on the forum and I couldn't help but be astounded by their TARGET PRICE.
For those of you that are not familiar, this is the price they say you can haggle to when buying new (they're normally correct).
They gave a TARGET PRICE of £5000 below the List price of
£19995 for the low power version!! It must be a mistake.
Maybe we should all email them and protest, Mazda should do the same.
The article is at www.whatcar.com for those interested as it's actually not a bad article and yes, they liked it.
Cheers

Considering the superb reviews and potential buyers I think the targer price is a joke. I can just see the Mazda saleperson pissing himself if I offererd that!

Given that we all thought £25K-£27K and were amazed when they came out at £22K I think this is a little ambitious....
I will be extremely surprised if there is any price negotiation available until 2004 at earliest. Demand will be too high until then. I had to haggle damn hard to get him to put floor-mats in the thing ! (and that was only as a gesture for being his first firm order!)
I think they got RX8 and MX5 confused somehow....

19995 pounds for both versions??!! Holy crap! That makes the RX-8 an amazing deal in Europe. I would pick the Hi power RX-8 model over the Focus RS any day of the week!

That is the target price, the price What Car? say you can get from Mazda after negotiations. However I still don't believe Mazda will give you a penny discount on a car initially.
However, I agree absolutely that 19995 pounds for the 189hp version is an absolute bargain in the UK.
