My wife hated the yellow. She thought the blue was the wrong shade (my 3000 GT was blue, but darker than the Mazda Winning Blue). She also didn't care for the Titanium or Silver very much.

She likes the black a lot, but I hated it. The only color we were both really enthuastic about was Velocity Red. Red was my 2nd choice (I did like the blue enough to make it #1) and it was probably tied with black for her first choice.

We ended up ordering a red.

Personally (as a girl) I like the green . But since that's not what you asked, blue, or black with the red/black interior.

Color

JASRX-8,
My wife wanted Green as well. But since you live in El Paso, where its hot hot hot, go with Silver. Not becuase I have it but rather, it maybe slightly cooler than the darker colors and it's less likely to see dirt.
Good luck
Al

I was dead-set on silver, until I saw the blue.

My favorite changes daily (?hourly?).

I'm sure it will change a lot before I buy.

Well. if it's hot where you live, get the lightest color - silver. It looks good with the red interior.

Check out V-Kool window tinting

http://www.v-kool.com/vk70.asp?cat=2

Keeping IR from sunlight out of the cockpit is probably more important than the exterior color as far as heat load.

You will be hot during summer no matter what color you chose, so I recommend chosing a color that you prefer most, rather then chosing color for heat purposes. I own a Black, and I love it, but I thought Silver looks absolutely magnificant in person and that was my second choice, and Winning blue third. The dealer I went to had one in every color, and they all looked sweet, so you can't go wrong with any of those choices. I had trouble making up my mind as well, but ultimately I went with black. I'd have to say go with the Silver.

I say you need to make your own choice. You are the one who has to drive it every day. I choose Velocity Red but I went in thinking I wanted a blue one. You need to see the cars and make the decision on the lot. I have to say the Velocity Red is one of the best reds I have seen a car painted. I had a black car once and it looked awesome right after I washed and waxed it. Any other time it looked terrible. Black also shows just about any imperfection IE. door dings

Just my 2 cents

Nat

No more Black for me!

My current and previous cars (not '8s) were black and I will never again have a black car.

Quite true.

In the summer here, temps are 90-110's and my black car is HOT! I'm not saying that another color won't be hot, but it will not get as hot as fast. I have no experience with window tinting because it was heavily restricted where I live until a couple of years ago.

Best of luck.

Get the silver with a cloth interior. The light exterior color and cloth should work best in your climate.

As for the two tone look n' feel you can always do some aftermarket tweaking later on (e.g. two tone steering wheel, the shift ****, red/black cloth seats etc. etc.)

Black is stunning, but it shows dirt about 15-20 seconds after you wash it. Most all folks that have black cards absolutely hate the fact that it takes so much work to keep them looking clean.

Also, black is the color that shows scratches and swirl marks the easiest, and after talking to several repair shops, black is also by far the hardest corlor to repait/match, so I would recommend agaist black.

I would recommend the light or the dark grey - they both look nice in the RX-8.

I had always thought that dark colored cars had hotter inside temps than light colored cars, but read an article a few years back that said tests showed no significant temp differences between light and dark cars. I don't know how true this might be. Colorwise, I love the Yellow and the Blue best but really would take an 8 in just about any color. Went to the V-Kool website and the product looks very interesting. I'm curious about pricing and dealer locations.

Black - The most draw dropping gorgeous color when clean

Titanium - "The black of the 21st century"

Blue - Very nice color although the X-Men blue is better. IMO, fades the most over time and ages faster than any other color.

Red - The sportiest and most head snapping color if that's what your going for. Watch out for cops ;-)

Green - Very classic color and probably the most unique of all the RX8's on the road

Yellow - A retro, sporty color that you love or hate

Silver - Not as good as other silver's I've seen, but you really can't go wrong with it. It holds resale value very well

Don't get the black unless you only want it to look good the day it is washed. I chose (and I am a girl) the Titanium because it will not show dust swirl marks or light scratches as easily as the "candy apple" winning blue or the dark green or black. I personally like the cloth interior, as the leather is too slick for autocrossing and it is also hot on your legs in shorts. The silver is my next choice, for the same reasons stated above. I have plenty of other girls(and guys) tell me that my car is sexy, so you take it from there!!

Blue or Black, they look the best. Black is defintely the best looking followed by blue. The blue doesn't show the dirt as bad though.

How often do you wash your car? If you're like most of us, having to work 40+hrs/week and take care of the family. Go with the silver. I've had silver Mazdas since 2000 and I can go up to a month and a half without washing and it still looks pretty good. Just make sure you wax once every quarter. Also the titanium along with the silver will show imperfections the least.

If El Paso is anything like Orange County, CA, then it seems like every other car is gray or silver. Black is gorgeous but requires more cleaning. Go with Blue (I personally went with Velocity Red).

Exactly why I picked this color. I like the UK Aston Martin look and it was the only color I have not seen on the road besides Yellow. (I dislike yellow on a car. No offense to you Yellows out there.)
