What Convenience Feature Would You Add?

Remember: Convenience. Not horsepower, handling, braking or looks. Convenience. And it should be minor; nothing like a Jacuzzi or a washing machine or a DVD player. Just a relatively minor tweak Mazda could add in coming years for a few bucks.

I would add an auto-tilt feature to the side view mirrors, for backing up. I want to see where the curb is when I'm parking.

Second choice would be power for the back windows.

Third would be express up and down on the front windows (Caveat for you nitpickers: I know we already have express down on the driver's window, here in the U.S.).

I knew someone would nitpick that one. :D I know there is express down on the driver's window. At least here in the U.S., though, there is no express up. And I wasn't talking about just the driver's window.

Express up would be a safety issue I think. You'll never get that in the US.

I would like auto-on headlights.

I would make the gas filler door and gas cap compatible so that the door could hold the cap while gassing up. As it is, the cap bangs on the fender.

Failing that, a 1,000 gallon tank with anti-gravity capability.

Actually, quite a few automakers have this feature. Lexus comes to mind.

One touch up and down on both front windows. (This is not a safety issue if they use the resistance detectors which automatically roll down the windows if they're rolling up and encounter a blockage. My 5+ year old VW Golf has this feature).

One touch close for the sunroof. (See above for safety related issue)

Memory positions for the drivers seat.

Blue light for the interior lights rather than red.

Re-positioned heated seat switches.

Re positioned cup-holders (I'm thinking in the doors).

Auto-open of the Windows and Sunroof from the Key-fob, or at least from the key in the door lock (1999.5 VW Golf can roll the windows up and down from the door lock, 04 Mini has it from the key fob).

Easier to modify stereo system.

Power seats with Memory feature for the Passenger side. ( Wonder if brining over a Euro/Japan car driver seat would serve this purpose.)

Auto Headlight (on Mercedes and such)

Digital number for how much gas left, so we wouldn't have to wait until it hits the yellow light and guess.

Ditto on the Stereo... we need more customization!

doors automatically lock at ~5mph.

rca in and out connectors on the factory stereo.

more efficient manual transmission...the power loss is in the neighborhood of 25%-30%, which i believe is high for manual trans.

and as mentioned above, cooled seats would be a superb idea...especially in areas where it hits 90F by noon.

Wiper for rear glass. Much faster than defrost grid when dealing with dew.

That's the one feature I miss from my Rx-7.

Isn't that what the fuel gauge is for?

A real oil gauge, that would read the level of your oil like your gas gauge reads the level of your fuel.

I actually don't want this. I want the choice on whether or not they are locked.

ANY kind of auxiliary input would be great! Especially now considering the popularity of iPods, satellite radio, etc!

rear window automatic opener- my friend's 2 door bmw has this and it is cool- they pop open like ours but he only has to hit a botton to make them pop open... as it is now, mine are never opened because it is a pain to open them.

it does...take a close look at the right hand side beneath the "gas filler door". There is a hook to capture the cord that is attached to the cap. Not intuitive nor necessarily convenient, but if you hook the cable on the hook, the cap won't bounce.
