What did you do with your RX8 today?

You rebuilt your first rotary before I had mi license huh, I am glad you know me. But since I am guessing you are not in your 50's by all the butt hurt you are spewing, I doubt you built anything before I got my license. BYW my first car was an 84 GSL-SE (a first gen 7, since you probably weren't old enough to remember those).

Lol. Stretching that boot over the synchro saver is a PITA.
Today I installed a whiteline front swaybar. Wasn't too bad, but lots of swearing getting the old bar wiggled out. In the end the easiest thing to do was disconnect the oil cooler lines, and wiggle the steering wheel left to right to get the bar to clear the tie rods. Doing it that way meant I didn't have to disconnect anything else, thankfully.

I know, I read about dropping the under tray, tilting the rad etc.. But I was in one of those moods where you don't really want to be doing what you're doing, but only realize it after you've started. You know? So I wanted to get it through by disconnecting as little as possible.

The center console is pretty straight forward.
Unscrew your shift **** all the way off.
Reach your finger in the open area by the E brake handle.
Gently pull up until the clips pop free. If you have heated seats you will need to unplug the switches. Easy Peasy

My blue 8 was a bit worried when I brought home a 2003 4Runner with 125k miles, all nice and shiny teal blue metallic. Drove the 4Runner for the past few days to haul some stuff. This morning I got in my 8 and the radio grunted somewhat strangely at me. I laughed and told the 8 not to worry, I would never sell it, and that I only got the 4 to move stuff around and not put as many miles on my favorite little sports car.

I got my appraisal and will now be insuring her as a "Enthusiast Automotive" for the appraised price for way cheaper than my current insurance. Can't complain when full insurance including collision costs $200 a year. I am also really happy that she is considered a "Survivor" and rated a 1 (show car).

The Point of no return
Pulled the engine and tore it down today. A few blown coolant seals and some carbon buildup but other than that looks healthy. Gonna order a seal kit and go from there, wish me luck! (please don't flame me i'm fragile )
