Today i fixed two holes in my oil pan that were causing some serious leaks. luckily it just happened yesterday and noticed it quickly before leaking too much
Good save! That could have cost you a pretty penny. I hope you plugged them right.
Today I installed the spare tire kit. After doing so, I came to the conclusion that many drivers will just call roadside assistance. What a chore to mount the spare on the bracket!
Drove over in the 8 to attend the (Cincinnati, OH) Ault Park Concours d'Elegance. Saw 1 S1 and 1 S2 driving around looking for parking spaces. If we form a club, we can have our own parking space area for 2017. By far the best car there was a 1966 Jaguar E-Type in mint condition with no restoration.

Also in Cincinnati and wouldn't mind going to different events my 8 is a work in progress but slowly trying to make it perfect again
motohegg, that's normal metal bits on your drain plugs. The fluid in the pan looks a bit milky, like maybe there is some water contamination, but always hard to tell from a picture. If it shift fine I wouldn't sweat it.
Today I ordered new side seals for my diff. I have a leak, I think I nicked one when I swapped in the replacement diff. It's not bad, but leaks right onto the exhaust which smells wonderful after a hard run on the track...
Is there a breather tube on the tranny? If so could high water get up into the tube or due to a lack of tube present?
Washed outside and engine compartment with wash-n-wax. Fully vacuumed. Then covered it. Way too dusty at work, so the 8 only goes out on nights and weekends. 70k miles now on the '04.
Simple question. My 8 is hard to start and does not idel. Has lots of power but stalls if you let it try and idel. Mazda says low compression but did not do a test they just did a diagnostic and figured its gotta be low compression. What do you guys think

Before everyone else jumps at you for not sesrching the forum, I can tell you its probably time for a new engine. Had the same problem a couple years ago (at about 70k miles). Stall at idle, difficult to start, and i dont know if you have this or not but I would have spotty power before it quit on me altogether. I can't say for certain if its bad compression but the engine is under warranty to 80k (i think its 80k..)
Anyways.. what i came here for is to say i buffed out my headlights and repainted my exhaust shrouds.
The before doesn't look too bad in pictures but it definitely helped clear up my lenses. Not bad for an $8 kit.
Also a before and after of my exhaust shrouds.

Kinda messed up around the edges cause i was in a hurry on account of a storm that rolled in out of nowhere.. but i plan to go over it.
crossmember caught wind on a piece of cardboard and hit passenger side door causing a little ding........SO PISSED LOL. Installed side bolt for driver shafts support beam. SIGH.......

Had a go at the Toledo ProSolo this weekend, it was my first event on the Hoosiers :-) I was pretty happy with the results. I learned a lot about how the car behaves on that kind of surface and am looking forward to the rest of the season

I swapped out the starter. The stud for the starter cable on the old solenoid broke off. After changing the starter, I think the old motor was getting a bit weak too. It starts so much faster now.
Nathan atkins as in atkins rotary. Just curious.
Today i got the top half of engine out. Next is exhaust, ac and some wires. Then separate from gearbox and pull

I've had mine for almost 4 years and I never even looked at it.
I really should at least make sure it has air in it.
