What did you do with your RX8 today?

The vandalized tire, starting of classes, and the lack of money for new rubber convinced me to put it into hibernation for at least the next few weeks . Washed, another layer of sealant, and cover for now.

purchased a new master and slave cylinder...
goes in for installation monday or tuesday.
probably going to have them throw a new cat on there while they're at it.. then it'll go get inspected and hopefully pass.

This
Both are in and capable of turning on(and did so, one at a time), but am going to redo the wiring a little bit tomorrow. Then I'll take some pics with both of them on.
Ignore the wire bundle hanging down over the A/C vent, that was from my old setup and had not been removed yet when I took this pic. It has nothing to do with these gauges.
Sorry it's kinda out of focus!

I spend 3 hours getting down and personal with the LIM and a die grinder
After porting the sleeves...I remembered a thread where Denny had said he did some work on the LIM.....I thought that there wasn't much there....but after gasket matching the ports on the irons to the intake ..there was a lot of difference in cross sectional area...and a lot of flash and crap in the intake.....
So Denny....I take it back...it WAS worth the work.....much better now

1. Got off work at 0600.
2. Started off with the intention of breaking in the new TPMS sensors (thank the lord this car only requires you drive 20mins)
3. Ended up checking the new tires balance, noise, stability, and traction.
4. Started off with a 5 mile engine warm up and tire warm up.
5. Scrubbed the tires for .5 a mile.
6. Slowly increased my speed over the course of 20 miles starting at 45mph stopping at 125mph checking for noise and vibration (radio off windows down)
7. On the way back made harsh lane changes, took the curviest roads I could find, and pulled hard turns.
8. Got home and did a tire inspection, hand checked the air pressures.
New wheels are quiet as can be expected, stick incredibly well, and the air pressure is still at 31.5 cold, 33 when I parked.

damn Dave, one gauge wasn't enough???
where'd you get the pod?
I spent all day yesterday getting the 8 ready for SevenStock
- 3 fresh coats of Zaino
- detailed the interior
- cleaned up the engine bay
Now the car will hide in the garage under a car cover until Saturday morning.

I've got a bunch of parts in the garage just waiting for when she's parked for winter, since I don't have the time now.
This year started with the short throw shifter. Earlier this summer I got ASA AR1 9" rims and new Yokohama 245/40's. I got the front and rear splash guards installed, but still need to install the side aero-flares and the front air dam lip. Also the RB AC/rad screen- I'll do that when I pull the nose to install the lip. And the MS CAI is waiting, too. What else...oh, the door edge protectors, oil cooler screens...hmm... probably one or two others I'm forgetting.
And one of these days, I might actually install my eyelids. LOL!
But today, all I did was drive her to work. She's not my DD so this was kind of special. The weather was perfect and I just couldn't resist!

car is driving great with the new master/slave cylinders. it smells a bit like melting plastic with movie theater popcorn butter at idle, but Chris told me the CAT would smell a bit like melting plastic for a few days... the popcorn butter, who knows?
