Prepping the 8 for a road trip I am embarking on tomorrow. My lady and I are driving up to the Sacramento area to visit her family, then driving to Monterey on Saturday for World Superbike at Laguna Seca, then heading back home after the race on Sunday. I just finished giving everything a once-over and cleaning the interior. I'll be heading to AutoZone soon for some oil and a filter so I can change mine. I'll be going synthetic now that I have a Sohn adapter. Then later I'll be taking it in for an alignment and then a wash.

Introduce your 8 to Highway 1 if you haven't already.
The most fun you can have sitting down.

I blew a rear tire.

Installed my Enkei's with Pirelli tires until I can afford to buy two new tires.

Changed the oil and filter after 1,500 on my "new" engine. The stuff that came out was nasty

We actually changed our plans and are heading up to Lake Tahoe first, we'll end up back by the border of Nevada. The Coast is the plan for the drive home

Watch out for speed traps on the 395.

The PCH is a beautiful drive, but too much traffic to push the pace. The curvy parts are super narrow and you're usually stuck behind an RV.

Installed this on my '06 today. RS Type Exhaust off eBay. Cheap $175 exhaust and the best sounding thing I've ever heard. Beats the Borla and all that expensive stuff for the same beautiful sound. Low rumble at idle and doesn't sound like a Honda fart rocket at high RPM's. No drone. Simple and smooth sounding. Loving it!

We ended up taking I-5 to I-80, more miles but it was less time-consuming. Car averaged over 23mpg with 70-80 cruising, so I'm fairly impressed. We are still planning to hit PCH for at least a little while on the return trip, but we'll probably hop on the highway at some point. The lady gets motion sick, so we'll see how long we can stay on the twisties before she says she's had enough.

Interesting, when I started premixing I noticed zero difference in performance. I also have a Sohn adapter so all that my engine burns is Idemitsu and gasoline, and I still noticed no changes.

Here are some photos my girlfriend and I took today on a little adventure into Old Town Lincoln, CA. We stopped by some sort of mill that looked cool. The car has been faring well so far in the 90-100F heat. The cooling fan switch mod has really helped keeping the water temps down. We also went up to Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, I snapped a few photos up above the lake.

Nice. Love WWP.
Mine's LY.
PCH road trip is on my bucket list.
My wife and I went to Maui 2 years ago, drove a rental up to the Haleakala summit and the Hana Highway and wished I was driving my 8 the whole time.

Thanks. Yeah I've been on some trips wishing I was driving something else haha. PCH is beautiful, I remember going all the way to San Francisco when I was a kid with my parents and we took the coast. It was an amazing drive.

Oil changed and replaced the ignition coils. Pretty humid today from the residual El Niņo-Category 4 "Dolores" storm from the Gulf; so the car finally had a free carwash, despite the California drought. I'm going to replace the spark plugs and go back to stock OEM suspension.

I was driving back from WorldSBK at Laguna Seca, after road tripping from HB to Lake Tahoe, to Sacramento, to Monterey, then to San Clemente. Driving in the rain from LA down to San Clemente took the 1300 miles worth of bugs and dirt right off, except on my rear bumper and trunk, where it just sloshed it around and made it look worse.

So I take it your engine is okay after that belt broke last month?

I went with the catless one. I've had cats fail on me so I figured it was the best bet
