What to do about . . .

What to do about . . .
So here I am, the happy owner of a new Sunlight Silver 2005 RX8 Six-Speed GT with lots of accessories and options. So far, I've driven it perhaps 300 miles, and I'm hooked. Looks like I'll have it for quite a while, lousy mileage or not, and regardless of the fact it could obviously use another fifty lbs/ft of torque (at least) and another hundred hp.
So, I say to myself, I wonder if anyone else has one of these things. I'll bet they do, and if they do, there'll be a users' group on the 'net.
And it is so, and it is good, or at least fair. Well, okay, I guess, not to get carried away.
Based on what I've read here during the past few days, I've already begun adding oil to the gas.
I've read most all of the material here (except when the threads get silly), and all of the rotaryenginesillustrated.com material, and a bunch of other stuff. I find that the rotary engine was probably not designed by anyone native to this planet, it probably had its genesis in Area 51, but that's okay; it works.
What to do with the spare tire, though? It takes up way too much space in the trunk for a GT car where you want to have room for a suitcase, golf clubs, and your girlfriend's diaphragm and thong collection. So I thought perhaps there might be a tasteful option to deal with it, like you see here.
Mounting would pose problems, but probably none as difficult as figuring out how to put a turbo in the engine bay.
Or, I could sell it, the whole damn thing. If anyone is interested, drop me a line. I'll part with it for substantially less than a dealer asks, but I'm not a charitable organization.

Guys, my tongue is firmly in cheek over the Continental kit. I didn't even like 'em in 1960 on Continentals.
But the spare tire, wheel, and mounting kit are for sale, all or nothing. I don't want to screw around with ebay if someone here wants it. PM me with an offer if you do; we'll dicker over price and shipping charges.

Welcome. Great sense of humor! lmao - nice link. No 8 should ever have to suffer the humiliation of mismatched shoes.
AAA - best investment you'll ever make!! Or do what I do: tell Mom & Dad that the best christmas/b-day/qwanza present ever would be to renew AAA membership every year!! (it's been ~ 10 years now 4 me )

Looks like the same holds true for these critters.
And I've belonged to AAA since cars had cars had crank starters.

Does the spare tire mount double as a rear strut bar? I think someone told me that somewhere down the line.... I'm not sure though... If it doesn't, then I need to get rid of mine too.

I was originally looking for a spare, but then the trunk is pretty useless anyway even without it, so we just haul large stuff in the other car (subie wagon). I have snow tires waiting to go on next month, and will be carrying a full-size spare all winter - nothing worse than arsing about with fix-a-flat when its minus 20 outside! Come to think of it, I might just carry a snow-tire full-size spare in the summer next year. Also I heard with those crappy little spares, going too fast can screw the diff - it has to work real hard because the spare wheel spins so much faster. Another reason to go all out and carry a full size, or not bother at all.
