What do you think of the chrome gas cap?

I put on the satin fuel lid 6 months ago and I like it. Not too blingy. And the car subtly is differentiated from all the other Tit Greys around here. Although not perfect, I think it matches my strakes, wheels, and even tailights nicely.

No Gods For Me
I have the satin fuel door on my VR 8. I've had it for about two years now. At first I wasn't so sure, but I really like it now. The Satin matches the strakes and the silver part of the rear lens. It has a much more substantial feel than the stock door.

I also have chrome rims, so it works well together. Looks really nice on a titanium gray car.

So I was thinking about and looked at my own car. For me I couldnt do it, the chrome would stick out to much. Although if I had other chrome accents on the car it would make sence and hence have flow. But 'eh... jsut remind him its his money and he's gonna have to live with the choice.

another no vote.
it's a phony racing lid and it looks phony. maybe if it was a real racing lid, but even still. it's so prominently located. if I were doing any serious modifications i'd glass right over the stock lid and reroute the fill inside the trunk. the fewer lines on the body the better.
to each their own I guess.

I had a Satin Fuel Door on my 04 Silver and liked it.
When I traded for my 06 BB I purchased and installed
a Satin Fuel Door. It only lasted a few weeks before I removed
it and replaced it with the OEM painted lid.
Guess it kind of depends on the color of your car and how much bling you want....

If you know someone who is visually impaired I say get the chrome. It's one way you could make their life a little easier if they ever put gas in your car. And why stop there, add braile.

I'll go with the crowd on this. It draws attention to itself, not to the car. Might look passable on a silver 8, but then you've got an even bigger problem -- a silver 8. By the way, it's a fuel filler door, not a gas cap.

Silver cap looks like you nailed on a tin can lid to make a repair....Maybe if it were scroll worked or personalized or something - but when I first saw one I had to ask what is that??? Now those silver gill rakers are lovely and the silver rotary rings I am going to add. Even those cheesy chrome plate covers can be fun ( Mom added a front one with silver palm trees that says Team Grannies and a back one, with palm trees that says Crusin' (Mom is into palm trees ever since the little town of Cambria made this farmer pull up 85 palm trees because they "didn't look like California scenary"). After I saw Cars I might even look for whitewalls, but silver cap...nahhhh...
