What gender is your 8?
Mine is a guy, just like a good friend. Everyday when I step in my car, I say "hey Mista RX, let's go". What's the gender of your 8??

Hmm, never though of my RX-8 that way. I would say mine is a fine lady whom if you give a bit more TLC (e.g. extra car washes, the best fuel, double check the oil, upgraded shiny rims, separate summer/winter tires), she will reward you with a very responsive drive.
However, on second thought, since the RX-8 is very quiet, it may not be female at all (Just Kidding ladies ...)
Hmm, if you don't treat the RX-8, I bet she would get real LOUD!!!! Treat her right and she will reward you... :D

A timely post as I was discussing this with spouse this evening as I checked oil. I feel that mine is female. Would be interesting to know if males see their cars are more male and vice versa. For the record, I am female.

Mine is female, I am female. I like to think of mine as a way to express my naughty side. I can take her out and taunt the males, flirt and make the other cars jealous that mine is getting all the attention.

Well, I'm pretty young, and single, so I'm at that stage where I guess every other person thinks I'm a freak for not having a girlfriend and keeps pestering me about getting one. I figured I'd name my RX-8 "Silvy" (for the color mainly) and just call "her" my girlfriend to shut those people up.
them: "So...uhh...you got a girlfriend?"
me: "oh yeah, her name's Silvy...she's reaaaaaaally great looking..."
*dramatic pause...*
"yep, she's got nice, BIG bulging curves up front...AGGRESSIVE looking rear end..."
them:
"oh but the best part of it all is, size don't matter to her...she likes small Wankels...she just loves going 'round and 'round on a stick."
them:
"In fact, she's in the parking lot right now, you wanna meet her?"

Mihoshi is what I call my RX-8. Does anyone watched/read Tenchi Muyo? To me this car totally reminds me of her. She's bubbly and energetic all the time. Nothing like a happy car to make a happy man.

wow, I didn't realize that almost everyone thinks that their cars are female... my male 8 must be having fun checking out all the female 8's on the road :D
but now that I think of it, washing my car feels awkward now...

Every other vehicle I've ever owned was a female, but my 8 is different cause it is special. My kids named it Alpha after our beloved cat whom died. His sister Centauri is still alive though. :p
