Let's see:
Aggresive styling
Rotary engine
Suicide doors
Handling
9000 RPM Redline
Short throw smooth as ice shifter
Just to name a few of MANY reasons.
Just refer to the above^ link and I'm sure you'll find more than enough reasons...

Like all cars, the RX8 makes some compromises... as always, test drive before you buy.
Cons:
Cons:
- low torque
- soft suspension results in some body roll
- poor fuel economy (15-17 MPG city, 21-23 highway)
- consumes 1 quart of oil every ~2000 miles (by design)
- no spare tire
- small trunk opening
- special procedure for cold-engine shutdown
- not many options for power mods
- radio LCD is low resolution, doesn't display much info, and is hard to read in sunlight
- poor rear visibility
- tight, responsive steering
- smooth short-throw shifter
- lightweight for a 4-seat RWD car (base 6-speed model is ~2880 pounds)
- 50/50 weight distribution
- center of gravity low to ground
- low yaw moment
- balanced and stiff chassis
- resistant to understeer
- predictable and forgiving nature nature makes it easy to drive at the edge
- excellent road feel
- good high-end power
- instantaneous throttle response
- smooth engine with linear output
- 9000 RPM redline
- rotary engine is durable
- comfortable, supportive seats
- soft suspension enhances ride comfort
- already-impressive handling is easy to improve
- 4 doors
- large interior (for a sports car)
- large trunk (for a sports car)
- rear seats surprisingly spacious (good headroom also)
- two child seat anchors
- well laid-out gauges and controls
- aesthetically pleasing exterior and interior
- 1.8 quarts between low and full on dipstick (means oil doesn't need to be constantly topped off)
- <$25k street price for base 6-speed model
