what the heck???
what the heck??? this guy on edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/ratings/new/2...ting..1.Mazda* claims to have already picked up his 8 and took it to track, claims to have gotten a 5.78 0-to-60 time... ??? maybe he's from japan. are the japanese cars delivering yet? maybe he's lying. in any case, can't believe he only gave it 8.9 out of 10. geez!

Here's the complete review:
Model 2004 Mazda RX-8
Style 4dr Coupe (1.3L 2rtr 6M)
Date Sunday, April 13, 2003
Ride/Drive Item Evaluated Model Rating
Performance 10.0
Comfort 10.0
Fuel Economy 8.0
Fun-to-Drive 10.0
Design Item Evaluated Model Rating
Interior Design 9.0
Exterior Design 8.0
Build Quality 8.0
Reliability 8.0 (Why less than perfect if he's only had it for 2 days?)
SCORE 8.9
Review:
This car is one of the best sports cars I have ever driven in last 15 years of my driving experience. 2 days after I got the 8, I took it to the track, and got 0-60 time of 5.78 sec. and ran 1/4 mile at 14.2 seconds, which made me surprised since C&D said it's slower a bit. Comfort at back is better than most coupes. It's even better than some sedans. I've redlined it dozens of times now, and no problems with anything even though it's still brand new.
Favorite Features Performance, rear seat room, dashboard, speedometer light, interior design, blast handling and suspensions, and luxury features.
Suggested Improvements More torque, Chrome wheels as option, and a little bit wider.

We know that the U.S. spec car has 10 more HP than the cars that were provided to the media. But I didn't think that would make that much difference in the times!:D

Why would anyone with half a brain red line a new car within two days of ownership?????? I guess, if this is true, he/she will have problems since they didn't go though a proper breakin period.

I just spoke to the guy that wrote the review. He said that next week he's picking up a 4th Gen RX-7 that he preordered. He's going to scoop me up before he goes to the track. We were going to hang out tomorrow in his 8 but he's publishing a paper on the cure for cancer that he discovered in his toilet water. Luckily he has a few minutes right now and he's going to test his theories on the space/time continuum and teleport himself & car over here so I can take it for a drive. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Yea man, your friend is lying to you... because my neighbor is the only one to have the teleport machine. And give me a break, everyone already knows toilet water cures cancer.
