okay, but what if they buy the rx8 as a daily driver? Not everyone buys the rx8 as a dd, etc. Some people prefer an auto, and thats okay. Btw, theres plenty of sports cars that are auto trans, ie f430, gtr, veyron, gti, etc. I guess all those arent sports cars right?

 

Whoa there, Varsity. So much for "nothing will hurt my feelings," huh? My point wasn't that 04 4AT RX8's are terrible performance-wise, but more so that they've suffered the brunt of the recalls and engine replacements, so that's the direction I'd be looking in. Next time I won't assume you've done your homework and read up on them.

I took the liberty of browsing through your 26 other posts you made during your short tenure here, and you seem to be a pretty sensitive dude, 'cause you've jumped at a lot of throats so far for people "bashing you." Why don't you turn it down a bit and listen to what people are saying and just ignore the idiots? You need a tougher skin on this forum.

Also, check your coolant level.

 

I hate to say it but Taj may be on to something.

Do you have an aftermarket intake? that could be causing the rough idle or if the person before you has removed any of the two screens in the intake tube before your Mass Airflow Sensor.

 

 

You are right, the GTI is not a sports car. The Veyron is a supercar and hasn't got automatic. It has a sequential manual 7 speed gearbox (with paddle shifters which probably confuses you). I don't know the specifics of the F430, but probably the same there. Get your facts straight.

(some 911s do have automatics though, we can thank Americans and lazy rich people for that).

But hey, I don't mind if you want a goodlooking car and want an auto for it, but I still think it's a waste of an RX-8, because if you want to drive spirited you need manual.

 

I'm pretty sure i dont... the air filter was suppsoedly new at the 60k check up and i have a new one in my trunk right now ?

 

 

Get your facts straights, your stating that a sports car must have a manual transmission and thats a fact, not opinion. My arguement is how so? That is a state of opinion. A sports car is a car that moves the driver and connects him/her with the machine, along with a car that can corner well, etc. A car that is shaped like a sports car. Generally have 2 doors, minus the 8 . I agree with you, I think sports car SHOULD have a manual, BBUUUTTT an automatic wont mystically transform a once sought sports car into a 'normal car'. Theres a lot more to a car than the transmission, thats my point.
