What I Hate Most!!!!

Ok...so i live in the sf bay area, fremont in particular... And 3 people ended up buying a car after me, for when i had it many people asked about it and so on....Anyway I see them driving, as stock as possible!!! No skirts, or anything....The piece of **** rx8 you can buy on ebay for 21k! They look ugly without mods! Why dont people spend a little bit more money, to make your baby look a little decent? The reason we all bought the car is for handling and looks... We all know its an exotic looking car, and its not ment for speed or anything else stock..... At least make your F*cking car look a little decent!!! Go on ebay and start playing with your car!

Good noob post. Not everyone wishes to pull a "Fast and Furious". I don't know how old you are but can you see a 40-60 year old fellow that drives an 8 with the latest body kit and lowered springs?

You think the 8 is ugly stock? Then why do you have one? To rice it up?

Brother, a Civic is ugly stock ... not the RX8. Did you also think that perhaps people mod and spend money on their cars in other ways (ie turbo, exhaust, etc)

You aren't contributing much by saying straight away the 8 is ugly. You're like the fellow the other day that says that DSC sucks. Be prepared to get FLAMED! Really constructive.

Coming from the other side of the fence, I think that most kitted up cars have a bad case of the ugly. On top of this, you might not know it, but people like my friends an I make fun of cars like that ALL the time. Hope yours is done up right so you don't get laughed at.

Why don't you post some pics of your car up, then we can all decide if it looks better or worse then stock.

Meh. On this board, I've read a few things that make me think there are at least four other black 8s in my area. I traded waves with one driver just the other day.

I wish all the other black 8s in my area would get all riced out -- so I could have the only good-looking one.

Is that so? Whatta ya know, I've owned the car for 18 months, and never knew that's why I bought the car.

Noob, take a hint - people bought the car for different reasons, and they aren't all as shallow and superficial as yours. You'll get on much better here if you don't start off by putting down and swearing at people who's opinions are different than yours. People here are of a wide range of ages, and have varying and different tastes, styles, and desires for their cars.

If you're looking for an RX-8 forum where everybody has to think like you (riced out body kits that all look the same, so that your car looks "original") - this place ain't it.

Regards,
Gordon

Did everybody notice the contradiction he made. He says that the 8 is "ugly without mods". Then goes on to say "the reason we all bought the car is for handling and looks". Confused?

Wow. And to think some of us idiots actually thought our "piece of **** Rx8" was one of the few cars that actually looked good to begin with. Being that it's "exotic" and all.

to each his own...

mine's not got any of the adornment -- no body kit, no wing, nothing. Looks very clean to me, and that's a big part of the appeal. Helps you notice subtleties like the curves in the roof. I can't bring myself to spend thousands to staple heavy dooo-dads to the car to help slow it down and limit ground clearance. Kinda like your favorite song turned up a little too loud...I honestly feel like I've outgrown that.

I used to want to date the girl with the most make up. I married the girl who looked great without it. Seemed more genuine to me, and my tolerence for pretense seems to be diminishing with age.

whatever works for you, i guess.

Hrm..some of us have families too and don't have the time nor the inclination to spend thousands of dollars on "beautifying" our cars.

Yeah, I caught that, too.
I figure it's him, not us.

BWAAAAHAHAHAHA!!! :p

No wonder he says
We all know its an exotic looking car, and its not ment for speed or anything else stock
- he bought the slug slow version, instead of the much faster manual trans version. He probably can't drive a stick! What a maroon.

Gordon

Hang on Gord ... with all the mods he's done though, his Auto 8 has got be faster than our MT 8's. As we all know, a wing with a height greater than 50 cm adds 20 HP, lowering the car adds at least 15HP, 19 inch rims with spinners adds 10HP and obviously the 5HP from decals.

Where's my BS flag?

From another one of his posts..

Im not planning on trading or selling my car, i love the baby too much, even after 20k miles, i love it as i do on the first day i got it. For all you people that dont have faith, i saw a rx8 turbo the other day, and he was running 12.9 somewhere around 310 rwhp, i need to beat that! I also have a 04 m3 running 380 hp, and a hummer with a whipple supercharger, with headers, exhaust, chip, pullys etc, goin around 530 hp, and people said it be impossible to get it to go under 8 seconds and 130 on the freeway....a 8k pound car....accomplished!

This is why compulsive liars shouldn't be allowed to make babies with lobotomy patients. :D

Cast another vote from the purist camp. I don't care much for any add-ons, especially when they add more body seams, weight and untested aerodynamics.
