what should I do to my rx8?
I've owned my black 04 gran touring for about a year now, and i've finally landed a job which is giving me residual income and i want to spend it on my car. I figured you guys would know what the best bang for the buck was more than anyone. any cost-efficient suggestions for how to start off modifying my rx8?

um....engine wise....exhaust and midpipe will run over a grand. um...access port....around 700. Greddy turbo....about 4 grand. Short shifter is about 300. Like a said....nothing is cheap. Even body kits are expenisve

don't do pullies...IMO....they don't do jack although other members here would say otherwise. I just have a K&N drop in filter which also in my opinion is just as good as any other filters out there for the 8. Mazda did a good job with this motor and everything else.....soooooo there's little hp to be gained unless you go FI.

a sensible "upgrade"
1) V1 radar
2) short shifter (look around, there is a thread somewhere, i don't have it, but those that do have it claim it's amazing)
3) proper maintenance
4) If you really have dough, i recommend either going the purist route and get light rim, nice tire, upgrade suspension, or go FI and replace the rightful missing 80hp of the RX-8

i have an idea. why dont you just do all these mods to your car like half the know it all's in here, and then come in here and complain that you are having all these engine problems and you have to visit the "fix it yourself" forum every other day to just keep your car on the road. leave it alone. IF anything, stick to cosmetics i.e Powedercoating rims, tint.

just fyi, the "know it alls" checks in to help people, and debate on the finer details. most people i know with engine problems either don't come on here, or only come on here when problem happens.

tbh if you dont have a big stack of money to drop on proper exhaust or bodykits, leave it alone
I personally dont like smoked tails, they look very cheap. everytime I see those smoked tails, they are either on riced up civics or pos trucks that mexicans driving them
