What should I expect

I had my 04 rx8 for about 6mnths now it's currently on 39857miles, so today I took my car to the dealership cuz the air conditioner wasn't blowing. So after I get done with them I left but as soon as I shifted outta first into 2nd my car makes a stumble noise then shuts off. So my car is at the dealership right now, I do have the extended warranty would this make difference?

So the AC was the only problem before you took it in?

If so, perhaps they just reset the fuel trims. The engine computer has a correction factor that takes a few drive cycles to get properly calibrated to your engine. Pulling power to the memory which stores this data will cause too much or too little fuel to be injected until the computer has time to make measurements.

There could be another problem, but that might be how the mechanics caused this issue.

If it is still under warranty, then tell the dealership all of the problems about your car and they should fix it for free, if it is covered under the warranty.

I've disconnected the battery twice now, and had to restart the car at least once each time. I bet that's all it is.

But their waiting on a phone call for more steps to follow, as for the low oil part I really dnt know how that happened The oil lvl was fine 2days before the car went down......

ask them for evidence saying it was low on oil. RX8's have low oil level warning indicator. if oil was low, they could tell immediately.

Looks Mazda is trying to get out yet again from replacing a engine. When did you change the oil last?

Low could be 1/4 of a quart.

How much low is way more important than just the fact that it is low.
You could go to the dealer, and take a look at the oil level to see how low it is.

How hard were you driving it since the last oil change?

Ok, so today i called mazda to see wuts going on with my car since its already been four days since the last update. The guy thats handling this problem was out sick today, but another guy talked to me and said that they calling the techs and going thru steps to see wut was going on.

So now they are waiting for the district manager to call to see if i get the warranty or not, OR NOT!!!???!!! So i asked if they did deny my what would be the reason why.....he said "Cuz their wasnt ANY oil in the motor" I told him that i was told that their was a qrt and a half left and if i didnt have any oil then y didnt my check light come on......

He said that what i said made since and that he was gonna make a note of that. So how low does the oil gotta be before the light comes on anyways?

How did they determine that there isn't any oil in the engine?
The only way to do that is to pull the drain plug.
Why would they have pulled the drain plug unless they were planning on changing the oil in the engine? Did you tell them to do an oil change on it?

There's so much BS coming from them, its not even funny.
You need to hop over there, and check your dipstick.

How many miles have you driven it since the oil change again?
How long ago was that?
Did you do the work yourself, or did you pay someone to do it?
Did you check the level when it was done to see if it was full?

BC.

Alright heres my situation so far.......

I bought my 8 on oct 5 2010 at 33,800miles, the oil had already been changed and we checked so it was good. I changed the oil at 38,xxxmiles and i am currently on 39,xxx, i used 5w-30 GTX and MOBILE 1 filter.

Take note i drive the car shifting at 5 to 6000rpms, smacking redline once in the morning and once after work. I work 12hrs a day at 8 to 10 days straight so i work more than i do driving.

Ok so i dropd off my reciept @ mazda showing proof of oil change and what type of oil i used. He was telling me that mazda had denied me twice but since im showing them proof that the oil was changed then they might approve for another motor. What are my chances of a new motor after showing this stuff?

If your current with your oil change and show proofs of it, then you'll have a chance of getting a new engine.

Well after patiently waiting a month I finally got word that I am getting a new motor. The district manager himself came to mazda to personally look at the 8 and approved, it turns out that 2 apex seals blew but I'll be getting my car back in a couple of wks.....

Awesome pardon my French lol but F*** em! Goddamn stealerships! Mazda is by far the worst dealer I've ever dealt with. Good thing the 8 sells itself lol!
