Depends on if you're going to looks or performance?
Personally I'm a looks guy.
I'd say clear corners with white LED bulbs, from rx8strakes.com, rotary rasp's footwell lights, possibly rx8strakes interior lights to match (very easy install on the interior lights btw). Get some strakes from rx8strakes or the other site, like r13brotary.com or something like that, I got the chrome ones from r13rotary, they are nice. Or you could get the front and rear rotary accents from rx8strakes, get the polished steel I believe, don't buy OEM for that, not worth the money.
For performance(or sound really), get an intake, I am soon going to get the AEM CAI (cold air intake), it is supposed to be pretty good, and sound nice.

first mod...!!?i don't think it really matter first ,2 ,3,4 mod, once you modify your car .there will be more modifications in the future soon or later . so just do the mod that you can afford and the mod you want to experience first..

Put stickers on your mufflers. Better flow. Then put stickers in your gas tank. They act as an octane booster.
My first mod was an AEM CAI. Was pretty fun to install (aside from the splash guard and wheel well linings). Definitly a much nicer sound, I got it in red to match my car and add some spice under the hood aside from the stock funeral black crap, and it probably added a couple horses. It won't blow you away by any means, but its a decent first mod.
Honestly just save up and get the Cobb AccessPort. It costs about as much as a CAI and cat-back, but actually adds significant power. Stay away from basic bolt ons on this car. If you have the cash to blow sure, but if you've been saving up for a while then they really aren't worth it.
