What to tell people with other cars?
#27
Just tell him:
1. "Whatever that makes you feel better!"
2. "If you have no idea what stick has over auto, you shouldn't be talking about cars."
3. Laugh like a hyena and say "Your car's an auto"
4. "Infiniti IS Nissan"
5. "Yeah I guess your car is so much better coz you beat me in a straight" (Try to say this sincerely)

Tell him there is more to cars than acceleration, the best cars can do physics in all directions.....
And for the displacement issue, tell him it isn't the length of the stroke, but more importantly, the girth of the powerband....and tell him at least your car didn't come with a tampon in the first aid kit.....
Click to Link.....
Tell him it is for the ***** behind the wheel......

The G35 is a very nice car. I strongly considered it before I bought my 8. Zero regrets. I think the 8 is a way cooler car all the way around, and pitiful little statistics don't change that. The very premise that the worth of a car is defined exclusively by how fast it goes is just nonsense. The G35 does have a bit more in the luxury department, but not so much as for me to really notice the difference; it's not like I'm living in Spartanville in my Shinka. If I hadn't bought the 8, I'm sure I could have been very, very happy in the G35, but even for even money I like the 8 better. It's more unique, I think it's much better looking, and there's a coolness associated with the rotary engine, and its physical dimensions fit me better. But I certainly have respect for anyone who chooses to drive a G35, it's a great car.
My point: This is the way mature people compare cars. Five-year-olds compare cars by going "Neener, neener, my car is some tiny fraction of a second quicker than yours, therefore I'm everything good and you're everything bad!!!!"
I vote with those who say "Get a new friend."

"Action speaks louder than words!" Bitch slap that sucker!
Just kidding!
Just be sarcastic about the whole situation. Tell him how you love his G35 and everything and anything about his G35. And with sarcasm, also agree with the negatives he says about your RX8. Tell him how rough the rotary is at 9500rpm cut-off. He might think you're on drugs, but it might at least shut him up!.

I will admit it probably is more luxurious... actually I know it is, but, to me, my car is better looking and a lot cheaper. He also has the 19" forged aluminum rims, which costed like $2,500 by themselves. I'm running out of things to say to him. Any suggestions?

Two of my friends have Gs, but it is just better for me that there are more G35s than rx-8s. We never really compare our cars by talking **** about the cars though.
I like the G, but I love the 8. <--- That is all you really need.

This thread is for you to say to your buddy with the G35c...

IMO, G35c is more like a tame tiger .. looks good but so damn tame..
rx8 is more like a wild tiger.. ferocious and agile and needs to be tamed.
Well, thats what I feel (even when I dont own the car .. but in 2 months.. things will be change!.. o yah!)
G35c: Luxury Sports SEDAN
RX8: Sports Performance car!
besides, ppl have different opinions always.. so what does it matter ..
Enough said!

tell him that "there is always a faster car" and that he's an ******* for be-littling you. tell him, "what kind of a "friend" r u anyways?" then, tell him if his car is SO great, then go compare it to the covette z06 or the new lexus is350... if he gives u any crap about those cars being more expensive, then u've made ur point about the price tag of the g35 vs. the 8... 'cuz the g35 is for sure more expensive...

Why do people have these issues? Also, what type of "friends" are these that have to bring you down so they can bring themslves up?
I like the G35 very much but the comment about the softer 350Z or to grow up are the ones I would stick too. Tell him who in his life does not tell him they love him enough for him to have to rag on your car.
Some people never leave high school no matter how old they get, it's just soo stupid.
Tell your so called "friend" to GROW UP because it's obvious he has the mind of a child!!!!
If my friend had a G35 I'd tell him why I liked it and leave it at that, who cares who is faster or better at this or that.
I'll never understand why people care so much what others think. If you love it that is all that matters.

Although, they did do a clutch drop at 7K. But regardless they still got the time.
Have him watch the top gear video on the 8... you know, the one where it gets the same road course time as the m3 and 350z.

Wow, some of you are as bad (or worse) than this guy's friend. Enough with the ricer arguments: "You'll beat him in the twisties" or "You'd kill him on a road course". How many RX-8 owners actually take their car on a course? Based on what I've seen at Watkins Glen, the answer is very, very few.
The G35 is a great car. Even after owning an 8, I still like the G35 better. It just has more to offer. Now, IMO, it is not $6K-$7K better, which is why we went with the 8 instead of the G35. But if someone can afford to spend that extra money, good for them, they are getting an excellent car.

It is an excellent car.. no debate there... just.. if your going to compare 2 different cars with different speed and power and argue performance, you might aswell take a ferrari and a porsche and argue which is better.
Personally, I like rx8 over g35c. Not cuz of performance or power, but because of its design, handing and the smooth ride. There will always be faster cars, there will be very few cars that call you out and say: "DRIVE ME"!!
