Just because we are older (35) doesnt mean we should all drive Lexus ES300's I enjoy my sports car and as far as that goes the G35 while a 4 seater is not the same as the 350Z. If I didn't need the rear seat I would be driving a Z. I love my 8 because it is the best of both worlds and yes I do put a car seat in my 8 from time to time.

Gee I recently posted an interior pic with a baby seat. Sorry if I offended you. Keep in mind that there are lots young people with children and old people (over 27 by your definition ) without children.
I'll post a pic without a baby seat here ... :D

At 28 you probably consider me old yet I have no kids, but nice to know I can own a nice car if I were to have any. I think those baby seats point out that Mazda got it right with this car with the ability to appeal to a huge market, otherwise none of us would be driving one.

I'm 47, that's 20 years older than old, and I just last evening put a car seat in my 8 for the first time. I had to go get my Grandchild from his Great Grandma's. As far as driving with an infant, or any passenger mind you, I drove the speed limit all the way home.
Otherwise I often drive like a fiend, or as I have heard Elara put it, a banshee! It's all relative to what the situation is.
As far as ages go, I have no trouble with a 16 y.o. owner no more than a 60 y.o. owner, and even older, so long as you get the hell out of my way when I am driving like a banshee!
Do I wish I could have afforded something comparable to the RX-8 when I was your age? Damn straight! Unfortunately, I had to stick to VW Beatles, Pintos and other less desirables because that was what I could afford at that time.
I'm happy for you that you can support yourself and your decision to buy such a classy beautiful machine as is the RX-8. I think you have already figured out that you need to think not in terms of age, sex, creed or color, but to think in terms of one RX-8 owner to another.

I'm 20 and I am paying it by myself. I have no baby seat in my car nor do I intend to in the near future. I respect all of those however that do have baby seats, because it shows that they still know how to have fun and purchased a car that utilizes the best of both worlds (Family person/Sport car fan).

MUHAHAHAHHA Jon and I are married folk... and we don't WANT kids!! AHA HAHAHH
But seriously, we are late twenties-early thirties and looked at safety as a serious factor. The 8 had better ratings than the 350Z (from the online reports we found). But no matter what, the almighty SUV will get you in the end. They are the enemy of all 'cars'. Just look at the results of crash points on the H2. SCARY!
I believe the rex is safer than most sport coupes, and very equal with sedans. Mazda really put a LOT of thought into all aspects that make up a vehicle when they made this car!

Well, I've got a kid in college and one in high school and unlike many other parents who have decided that they no longer want to drive a fun car in favor of the massive house-sized box on wheels, I have never owned a mini-van or SUV. So not all us old fogies are well, old fogies.

This is by far the most ignorant thread I think I have ever come across. Let's see.. I'm married(9years), 3 kids, a dog, and a cat. I guess because I am a family man and I enjoy taking my kids along for a ride that makes me a disgrace to the 8 and the entire sports car race. Excuse us married folk for enjoying life too.... Get real kid....
