The RX8 will be with me (GOD WILLING) for a long time, I think it's a keeper. I could save my money and not have the monthly bill of a car and just add a turbo or build a 3-rotor RX8. I can't complain much about my RX8 and family wise it would be best to take a rest from the car bill for a few years after it's paid off.
Now, if they build the Camaro and it looks like the concept (must have a usable back seat like the RX8...I need it for Jr or Jr’s’s’s’s’s) I'd pick one of those up if the price is reasonable.
OR, if the EVO X also looks similar to the concept (cept, they need to tweak the front of the car and remove that disgusting huge tail) and made it reasonably priced I'd also look into it.
Meanwhile...this does not mean I'd get rid of my 8, but I'd have to find a 3 car garage for my 8 to live in along with my "other car". But, time will tell what happens...right now, there isn't any car out there that could replace my lovely 8.
What ever happens...it will have to beat the 8 in power, handling, fun to drive factor, looks, and usability as a 2+2 sports car...or at least match it.

For me seriously, as of right now, my next car will likely be a newer S2000, or an RX8 convertible, if one is ever actually made. In the back of my mind is also a 350 roadster. No plans on trading my STI in for a newer one, unless that car gets off the cheap looking economy path, and they actually refine the car and make it look like it's a $30k+ car. As long as I keep seeing that 60 year old woman driving a silver Impreza RS that looks just like my car but costs $14 grand less, I can't be an STI diehard enthusiast, only an owner, who loves a 300hp daily beater, and didn't mind shelling out the extra 14gs to have all this performance.

For the last 3 months I've had a Mercedes-Benz C55 AMG on loan from Mercedes-Benz USA - my company provides technology for them, and I struck up a good relationship with their press relations folks. It's going back to them in about 3 weeks (drag!) - we were trying to figure out a way to barter it across to me, but it didn't work out.
But, I'm hooked - that car is completely amazing - a 5.5L V8 stuffed into a pretty small and light sedan package. Love pulling that pup up next to some doofus in a slammed rice mobile who thinks he's got the major chops and leave him eating the smoke from the Continentals on this car. This one is "de-badged" - no AMG badge anywhere on it, nor C55 - just an MB star on the trunk Only clues are the exhaust tip and the wheels and tires. But a 0-60 time in the upper 4's sure points out the capabilities of this beast.
So, if I can just get my head around spending that much on a car (about $65K optioned up the way I want it), that will be my next toy.
That said, I drove the new V6-powered C230 Sport recently - while no fire-breathing V8 like the AMG, at $36K loaded up, and with 210 HP and good torque, it will pull 0-60 in about the same as my -8 ... so, giving that consideration as well - and at that price, doesn't take much considering, considering the suspension is the same as on the AMG.

I'd really like to get the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, hey I am aspiring to the cheapest Aston Martin.
Realistically I see myself staying with Rotaries, hopping there will be an MazdaSPEED 8, I would definitely get that.
If I had to return to piston power, maybe a G35c or a Goat or a Challenger if they make it, but I really don't see myself doing that.

Where did you hear that Ford is not going to make the Sport Trac Adenalin? I still show the Job1 date as 5/21/2007 which will be sold as a 2008 model. I am wondering who your source was for the elimination for the program......as I have never heard that before.

I have a similar dilema. I also think my next car is going to be a GT500 unless there is a reliable FI kit that produces 350rwhp for the RX8. I got the Shinka because I really wanted to keep this car forever.....but if there is still no decent FI kit, turbo or S/C, in the next 2 1/2 years.........well the GT500 is going to be my next ride.
