Forgot that it had just rained heavily and went to open the sun roof.

Hint rain on the sunroof + opening it = instant shower.

Ah, sarcasm . Anyhow, it sounded like a wheel nut or a stone of the same size came up and hit something. I was having such a relaxing and fun ride up to that point.

As you might know, I am trying to decide whether I should buy MS shocks/springs or RB springs/tokico shocks to go along with my RB sways. So I decided to do a little hands-on research at a local twisty private road that leads to a construction site. Usually no one is on this road at night, so I go there around 10pm and begin driving briskly around the turns, braking and accelerating suddenly to gauge the reaction of the shocks. On the way I see a white unmarked truck in the distance, so I slow down and pass him as if I was just lost (ha). I reached the construction site, so I made a U-turn and drove the other way. All of a sudden I see the same white truck coming toward me, and it makes a U-turn in front of me. When I passed the truck, it turned on a single rotating red flashing light and began tailing me. So at this point, there is a heavy *** truck behind me, a dark, fun, twisty road ahead of me, and a nervous me sitting at the helm of my window-tinted, nav-up, Revi-intake, RB sway fitted RX-8. What do you think I decided to do next? I gun it down the road at 80mph, and to my surprise this truck is really trying to follow me! So I flew through the turns at slightly uncomfortable speeds and left the truck further and further behind. I reached the public roads and made some random turns into a residential area to make sure I wasn't followed. After calming down a bit, I decided I was hungry so I went to Wendy's and got some 99 cent chicken nuggets and went home.
Nice. I've out-manuevered some cops who have tried following me as well (who may or may not have eventually turned on the sirens). All about utilizing the neighborhood mazes and yellow traffic lights.

Those kinda hits happen to me a lot on these texan roads. Only a few of them have resulted in deep scratches. There's like 2 deep, nail size ones on my driver's door , can't buff em out or anything, would be hundreds to get it repaired professionally.

Lol, I just hope it wasn't something that fell off my car and then bounced up and hit the undercarriage. Yeah I'm paranoid.

That almost happened to me right after I got my car in March. My mom wanted to open the moonroof and I stopped her just in time, realizing that the window tillts and that it would run in on us.

That's nothing, though. My mom's Tribute has a moonroof on it. It had been bright and sunny and in the mid 70s, so she had the moonroof open. When she got home she didn't close it (was going to leave again in about 30 minutes). A random, unexpected heavy downpour came up and soaked the inside. It was only raining a few minutes before she got it closed but it was awfully went inside!

*cough*
Did that in my protege5 with all the windows down and sunroof; freak spring shower.

Had diamond plate floor mats in that car and the water was least a good inche puddle. Seats....even worst. Quickly closed the windows, put every towel I could find in there and drove to a friends house where we whipped out hair dyers and heat guns. Spent the next 4-5 hours sitting there drying it all.

Only saving grace was that the dash (radio, guages etc) did not get that wet and no nasty smell afterwards.

Only way it could have gotten any more wet was if it had been driven into a lake.

Lesson learned: never leave windows and roof open.

Truck brand seems to be irrelevant. They sound like the same brand of people - really, really f8ckin stupid.

Allow my idiot immature friend ride shotgun. I shifted out into neutral while breaking and I had the clutch down. Well this jackass thinks it would be funny to throw it into second gear while im doing about 35. Needless to say I let go of the clutch and to my horror, my wheels lock up and begin to scream and squeel. The rear end begins bouncing hard and I can almost feel the clutch smashing down. I was like WTF? This kid is laughing his *** off not realising the danger he just put us in and the damage he could have cost me. After that incident he now looks like this . I cannot even begin to tell you guys the anger that was flowing through me, I am surprised this bastard lived.

First day I got the car, new to stick. Hit some construction on the interstate going uphill, and a truck pulls ahead going slow. Go from 6th to 5th. All good. Really poking, so I go from 5th to 4th... and hit 2nd. Oops.

At least I'm not the only one who's done that.

All these people accidentally shifting to second are weak sauce . I once let my friend shift for me as I was talking on my cell phone. As pull I from a traffic light, he shifts from 1st to 2nd, then 2nd to.... 1st!! BAM RPMs shot up to 10K faster than you can say "shat!!". Needless to say I don't let anyone do that anymore.

Worst thing Ive done? Started moding... now Im addicted.

Its gotten to the point where I ration out DIY projects so I dont do them all at once and be stuck with no option but to spend $$

I thought the time I accidentally shifted from 4th to 2nd was a horrendous foul, but apparently Im not alone.
