Unhappy What would you do?

Sooo, unfortunately yesterday morning my blood sugar was really low, I ended up hitting a curb going 25mph- a small curb, 2/3 to half the size of a normal one - and bent both rims... flattening both tires on the passenger side.

Towed it to the place I usually take my car to - in my old car this happened and they usually fixed it for free, I was going 80mph and hit a curb - and today they call and tell me;

1.) My alignment has been off leading to inproper wear on my rear tires (they just inspected/did oil change, why was this not brought up then?).
2.) I destroyed my rear TMPS on my right rear wheel.
3.) Probably further knocked out my alignment.
4.) Front wheel is cracked, back I will need to replace too.
5.) 3 new tires (both rear and front right).

So, for;
a.) 125 a wheel I can get them fixed, $250, 4 new tires will be $600, installation + alignment = over a grand
b.) at tirerack.com I can get all new OM wheels, tires with new TMPS mounted and shipped for less then a grand.
c.) trust eBay and order 2 mazda rx8 rims $350
d.) go for a second opinion at another shop? This shop has been GREAT to me and my family for yeaarss... but lately they have been pulling this?

I appreciate all opinions/thoughts/comments .

get new tires+rims.

on my old car (with crappy $90/tire all seasons) i would never notice when i would replace just ONE tire.

i had my rear driver tire slashed, and i replaced both rear tires. thankfully the geico adjuster gave me the money for a "detail" which almost covered the 2nd rear tire.

it is not the same around turns. the back tires, being newer, have quite a bit more grip, the car will understeer and it will kick on DSC/TC and really ruin a lot of driving fun. also, it makes it kind of scary when the car wont go around a turn properly.

i will always go 4 new tires now.

its winter now, you could pick up a set of winter tires for $550-800. comes with rims. already mounted and balanced. usually 17s. search the forums, i believe several winter packages are not sold, even though they maybe 6+ pages back.

then, when spring rolls around, have the tires demounted and slap some normal tires on there.

you could even sell the winter tires.

Go to the shop and have them show you the wear pattern on the rear tires. It is possible that there is abnormal wear on the inside of the tire and you do need an alignment. Your car is at least 4 yrs old now and a all wheel alignment wouldn't be a bad idea.

Right now I'm weighing getting all new rims and tires or getting two new mazda rims and 4 new tires... definitely an alignment!

i think this is a good time to go aftermarket wheels. you could probably find a buyer for the 2 oem wheels that are still good.

And keep a couple snickers bars in the car. I have slight hypoglycemia and if I don't eat every 3 or 4 hours I feel like keeling right over.

Aww...I'm glad you didn't get hurt. I would think about getting some new rims if you could afford it. I'm sure if you took it to another shop they would competively mark down the prices that the other shop quoted you.
