That is not correct.

The auto tranny motor went from a 4 port to a 6 port design in 06. The auto tranny jumped to two oil coolers instead of one (like the high power units) also in 06.

Two rather big changes in engine design, longevity and performance.

Plus things like the SRS seat sensors, Code Hopping remote controls, and a seriously re-designed auto tranny, revised sun visors, all in 06.

Last half of 06 and the 07, all the others have tsb's to correct the problems. To bad it was to late for the early models, they paid the price of buying untested tech. The future will see if these models have to have the engines replaced.

I think the "revised" sun visors are still perforated and look just like the older ones. What's revised is the inner construction, so they don't suddenly fall apart, like some have. (Personally, I love the little holes—with them, I can see a red light turn green even when the sun's right in front of me. And I can make the holes "solid" by adjusting the visor to an oblique angle.)

Icemark makes a good point about the AT. If you're talking MT though, there's not a lot of difference. Choose a color and find what year it was available. I've got an 04 Ti Gray and have had no problems with 35k miles on it.

Depends what you mean by got it right. If you are meaning reliability I'd say an 07. No TSB for compression tests and oil metering less change of replacing the engine.

My some of us are touchy, your answer was precise and concise after you logically resolved that this was not an attack, just a simple question asking your non bias opinion. Thanks for your prompt and I feel accurate reply. I will restate the RX-8 is a Good CAR, with great styling and handling this is not an attack. I agree with you guys.

2004 had the great numbers of TSB and the 2006-07 have most or best upgrade since, Progress on this thread has been made. Any other non bias difference between the 06s and 07s?, were 05s basically a reissued 04s?

2005, due to no supply of 06's in 06 there were tons of leftover 05's so I bought a 30K sport for 22 OTD. Plus they took care of most the TSB issues in 05 that the 04 cars had.

Hmm mine has perforated ones as well, but I didn't get the stupid perforated one, I got the regular perforated ones.

Actually I think the perforated sun visors are one of the best least pushed features of the car. Simply genius! They block light in all but one very small position and in the small position allow you to see the street light across the road even when the visor is down.

I dunno about that and the '06; One of my first trips back to the dealership after getting my new 2006 GT was to get the driver's side visor replaced because it split at the seams near the joint. So far no problems with the replacement.

I for one like the perforated design as well for that reason. The card holder is a nice touch, too; I just haven't found a need for it yet.
