I have a black RX8 and I call it "Gee Ma Goun" - Seasame roll (black outside and red inside)
Most of my friends have Yum Cha dishes named after their cars..
I used to have a Har Gao (Shrimp Dumpling) which was a white Integra Type R DC2 (lightweight ver.) with red Recardo seats.
Compare to my friend also has a white Integra Type R RSX (DC5) also red Recardo inside - heavier and his car's name is Cha Siu Pao (Pork Bun)
Someone has a grey Boxster S look like Yue Chi Gao (shark fin dumpling) it is expensive dish as well!!!!
One friend has a Yellow MR2 which is a Dan Tat (Custard Tart) and how has a R34 GTR which is white with black leather so... Tong Yuen (Seasame ***** - a Yum Cha desert)
A black 200SX with strange green tinge to the uphostery - his name is Pei Dan (preserved Duck eggs)

My 8 has been dubbed the ROCK8. It goes with both a NASA kinda theme as well as "rice rocket".
On my 86 RX-7, I labeled the fuel door with:

of course you'd get a neat reaction. you told them that a car that hasn't even been in production for more than one year is an 'old jalopy.' that's not really jumping to conclusions, more like using your common sense.
that would be like calling my pet dog a cat, then having people surprised when they see its a dog.

Hmmm, I currently go with "the 8", and "the 7" and "the WRX". But I am thinking some names from the Mad Max movies would work for them. The WRX could be "Bubba Zanetti", the 8 could be "the towcutter" and the 7 should be "the nightrider"--but then I would think of David Hasselhof and that ain't right. So the 7 can be "Max". Lets see if my wife buys into this.

Even though I don't pick it up for two weeks, I've found a name already for my Black RX-8 with black/chaparral leather. After I came home from signing the papers I named it while watching the brown nitrogen bubbles in a tall, black celebratory glass of Guinness Stout... and Guinness the 8 was born : )
