I chose wesson, is easy to find and quite affordable, and by far has the best smell, although some like crisco...

Personaly I use Royal Purple 5w30 Full Synthetic (i chose it over the same thing in 5w20 because its easyer to find in my arear)

The Mazda dealer also sells Mazda brand rotary engine oil. I add about 1/4 of a quart every other fill-up. But, you should follow the instructions in the manual on how to check the oil. The amount of oil burned up depends on how you drive.

You can use whatever you like, but Mazda does not recommend synthetic oils. This topic has been discussed ad nauseum, so if you really want to know what people on this forum think about it, do a search.

I use exactly what they say in the manual. Valvoline SAE 5W-20. But I hardly ever have to fill it up on oil.

Whatever the dealer puts in it works for me. For $15 why would you change your own oil???

Doesn't it seem a little odd that you are using an oil named after an engine part that we don't have!

Valvoline Synthetic is what Rick Engman ran in all of Jim Downing's Mazda race cars btw.

castrol GTX 5-20 for me even though it's hard to find.... buy a case if you can find one and keep a quart in your car to top it off when you notice the level is getting a little low

I don't think synthetic will actually harm the car but why use something that Mazda doesn't recommend.

oil for the rx8 in cyprus

Hi Alex,

Best place to get oil is from Autohouse. 22 498 178 / 99 651 806. Theodoros Theodorou.

He brings in a lot of specialist oils. I havent used him yet but my friend gets the oil for his defender from there and apparently he also has oil for us 8's. ....i need to get some soon actually

I buy from "Fasarias" Kendall GT1 10w 30. Seems to be good enough oil.
Fasarias is the shop from Sfinakia to honda that it is selling bilstein compomotive etc. He doesn't have a sign with his name :P

Minty have that tried that Autohouse? What brands does the guy sells? Does he has a shop? where?
