Hey dont get the key!!!... If its like the one that Binz owners use, then dont drop it in water or your car will not start. A guest at my job could not start her car. So I went out to you know see what I can do. No start. She said she get her key wet. Next day she gets her car to the dealer and on her way in I asked her what was the deal and yea it was due to her key getting wet ...

2005 model changes in Japan

In Japan, they are still kind of rumer, though.

1)shift cover design change for MT model (4 parts (current) -> 3 parts)
2)new color will be added (JDM already has white. Some sourses say that is strat blue mica )
3)imobirizar key will be standard for all models.(currenty, this is option)

These sources are Rx-7 magazine and some dealership.

That blue mica wouldn't be this color would it: (I can dream, can't I?)

I can't believe that Mazda would be so cruel as to offer this color in Japan but not here in the U.S.!!!

And are you SURE this won't be available in the U.S.?

I know, you aren't even sure it will be available in Japan, but I gotta ask anyway.

The '05's should be here in four weeks. You would think we would have more info on them than we do.

I am not sure for the U.S. As far as I know, there is no info on U.S. model in Japan.
U.S. dealership may have more info on this.

I wish you could get nice info on this from your dealership

That's too funny! Good information from my dealership? Heck, I know twice as much as they do about these cars!

We should sell RX-8's then get a second one with our discount and pay them off with the money we get.

What about Orange???

*MY* dealership (well, one of the 4 I've been to this week) says that there will be an Orange RX-8 in 2005 (re:350Z).

And I *believe* them! Really. I do. They know way more than we do!

Although, http://special.rx-8.mazda.co.jp/fun/race.html (select "Game Start" then "Body Color") *does* have an orange and a blue much like the one on the MazdaSpeed RX-8 posted above.

not rx8 news, but the latest autoweek tv show showed the miata mule that we've all seen with the rx8 front end... they claimed mazda is working on a rotary option for it.

Wow that Mica Blue is beautiful! I really hope they release the 8 in that color over here in Canada. Maybe I should hold off for the 2005 model!

Hard to tell from that picture if it is exactly the same as the photo on the previous page, but it sure looks fairly close. And it is definitely a positive sign that you can apparently order that color in Germany!

Thanks for the great info!

I was at the dealership yesterday and there was a magazine called Mazda Fuel (I think). It seems to be a dealership type magazine. There's a neat little write up on the new 2005 key standard for the 8 and some other models. Their reasoning was that it gives a little prestige that only the european companies have with their keys. The picture looked really cool though, but I couldn't tell if it flipped out from the side like the VW keys or it came out from the center. I think they mentioned the word stiletto.

Hey guys. I was just at a couple of dealerships today and inquired about the 2005. Two separate dealers told me that for sure the Aspen Green and Arctic White colors BUT no Mica Blue. SO SAD! A third dealer said MAYBE but I think he was trying to get my hopes up. I saw the Mica Blue on the 6 and its SWEET. Guess I'll "settle" for Racing Blue.

Just went to the German website to check colors. The colors over there are the same as here except they have the mica blue (they call it strato blue) instead of the yellow. Wish they would bring that color here for 05 it looks great.
