What's your other car?

My Honda Accord Coupe. If only it is a MT... But then again, if it is MT, I wouldn't have my RX-8 now. I am selling it now as I am replacing it with my RX-8.
Then there is this POS I used to learn how to drive a stick, LOL.

My reco: never purchase a 2L-T engine in a BMW
I have to vent. I was blessed to be forced to have a BMW 430i coupe/vert as a rental car last night. But that 4 banger is just depressing and enbarasing in such a fine skeleton that is the 430. I feel like one you have it going, the RX-8 has nearly = performance with a much lighter more nimble package. I wouldn't touch a 2L-turbo from BMW unless they gave it to me to show off. A complete let down. (I even checked under the hood just to make sure Enterprise didn't "remove" 2-4 of the spark plug wires.)

My car above is one of them SLOW BMW X1 s28i 2.0l with turbo.
It's the best running car I ever had, and when I took it to Circuit of the Americas the Porsche guys called me quick because they couldn't catch me to pass until past the halfway mark, and I only got up to 120 mph.
On a tight track my RX8 might even catch me, but I don't think so at COTA.
I drove a BMW 435 at a driving event to check the power of the 6 cylinder, and it seemed slightly faster, but your 430 in 2T must have been a dog.

I drove a fully loaded M sport 328i with the turbo 4 banger as a loaner and it was pretty quick, faster (and light years ahead in every other way) than a stock RX-8 for sure, but it was buzzy and the start stop feature was annoying. But the torque of my i6 twin scroll turbo is just another level, once a couple of more goodies go on I will be making over 400WHP.

The 335 is an animal for sure.
I was amazed at the 1250 rpm low end torque of the 2.0 which feels like a very strong diesel.
I have to be careful taking off or the rear Pirelli summer tires will throw traction to other rear wheel and wear brakes more, and they are pretty grippy in 255/40r18 size.
Power isn't the problem of BMW's, but durabilty might be.
Start stop is ridiculous and dangerous, and if you use Eco-Pro it turns *** back on.
I bought stock car with only M sport, and have plenty of TECH on car.

I actually sold my Accord yesterday. The guy buying the car asked me what my other car is. I said it's an RX-8. He said, "But that's such a shitty car!" I politely said no, I like it, and it just requires more attention like most sports cars, but deeper down I am angry and sad how misunderstood the car is. Of course it will need more maintenance than the Accord, but the 8 can take corners much better and it revs to the moon.

2005 Honda Insight with a CVT.
I call it the Abominable Penny Pincher. Or the Clown Car. Or the Terrible Tin Can. Or the Spaceship.
It's everything I never wanted in a car: Hybrid drive train, wrong-wheel drive, silver, Honda, automatic, CVT, piston engine, drum brakes.
But then I have days like Friday where I got 75 MPG on my commute, and I think about saving $8-$10 a day in gas that will go toward sticky tires, brake pads, and gasoline for the RX-8. Lots and lots of gasoline!
Plus it really is a supercar, just at the opposite end of the spectrum from a high-performance supercar. It took 17 years for the Insight's fuel economy to be beat. It is not an electric or a plug-in, it's all gas. It's structure is all aluminum, tipping the scales and 1950 lb. Ironically, it was manufactured on the same assembly line, at the same time, as the Acura NSX.
Of course, at the other end of the spectrum, I have the 13 MPG Dodge Ram 2500HD Hemi pick-em-up truck...

I have 16 cars with complete running engine and tranny, and few more 60s era chasis and a few drift sleds to be built started my collecting 10 years ago and have sold off a bunch but no one really cares on this forum every one want to see the rx8 ****. My neighbor begged me to trade him a 95 lifted cherokee jeep I had for his blown rx8 and a gs500f motorcycle. Of course I fixed the rotary because I have always been a fan of the older gens and this one was next to free before repairs.
